Hello,
Anyone used this chain tensioner before? Our engine cand be quite louder and have some slacking chain noise when idle. I found this online, with wonderfull results for some users.
Is this a good upgrade to the stock tensioner? Do we need this on bikes with low mileage?
I don`t really want to mess things up, but i would also like the engine to be a bit quieter, just to hear the exhaust notes better :)
Thank you guys!

I don't know there should be the difference to the OEM chain tensioner. Both have a kind of snap adjusting. Regarding the infos from Pirate Racing (Youtube) the cam chain noise can be reduced with Motul 300V Off Road 15W60 oil and solved with changing the CZ cam chain with a DID cam chain.

Pirate Racing recommends Motul 300V Offroad 15W60.

w.r.t. the cam chain tensioner:

I had a faulty stock chain tensioner on my vitpilen : everything was okay except during hot restarts where the engine was very noisy the first hundreds meters.
I changed it for a new stock one, no problem after that.
These engines are loud and as long as the ticking noise at startup goes away I won't be bothered by my chain tensioner.
Like it is said before, you can get a slightly lower sound by changing oil or with additives. But it won't be an honda inline 4...

Mine does that too, I was under the impression it is normal... maybe I will order a new one... should be easy enough to change out.

The tensioner should be working as soon as the oil pressure goes up. The noise after hot restart told that it was not the case. It may just be clogged but I did not found a good way of cleaning it so I changed it.
Very quick job, and the noise disappear within seconds, as it should.
