
Description of the Defect : On affected motorcycles, it is possible that the alignment of the gear teeth on the license plate holder and swingarm may be positioned incorrectly.
Description of the Safety Risk : Misalignment of the bracket may cause the rear axle nut to loosen, which may cause injury to the rider or others and/or damage to property.
Description of the Cause : During the assembly, the gear teeth on the license plate holder and swingarm may have incorrect alignment, which may result in the rear wheel axle nut becoming loose and cause the license plate bracket to fall down and contact the rear wheel.
Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : None
Description of Remedy Program : To remedy this defect, it is necessary to have the alignment of the gear teeth on the license plate carrier and swingarm checked and the alignment corrected if necessary. The torque of the rear wheel axle collar nut must also be checked. This work must be performed by an authorized Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer and will be done free of charge.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The unit must be inspected by an authorized Husqvarna Motorcycle dealer to determine if the condition exists and is corrected.
