Let me tell you about the tube fiasco I had yesterday with Cycle gear. I took them two new tires I bought online about 3-4 months ago, maybe more, and had them R&R the tires and I bought two new tubes and rim tape/spoke coverings from them. On Monday I went to ride the bike around the neighborhood to keep everything running. The rear tire was flat, the new tires/tubes have MAYBE three miles on them. I inherited the bike and it's still in probate so no tag. I called CG and spoke to the guy and he said they would have to look at it, because they did the installation of the tube/tire it should be covered under some kind of warranty. when I got there they told me there wasn't any warranty and that I would have to buy a new tube and pay for r&ring the tire. I WAS NOT HAPPY and thought they should cover it. So I asked them if they install a new tube and it goes flat tomorrow I'd still have to pay again, yep...so it's "too bad so sad" I had them REDO their work to the tune of 57.00 and away I went. I was not happy at all. Know one covers anything anymore, warranty work is go F yourself today.

Soooo, what are everyone's thoughts on this? I know ...I can install my own tires and solve this problem, that's what I'll be doing if this happens again. I used to r&r my tires on my sportbikes ten years ago.

I bought the tires online, and when I called CG the dude said they didn't have that size in stock and it would take some time to get them <<<<---- sounds strange but I gave them a week or so until I started looking. Once I got the tires I called the same CG to have the tires r&r-ed and they told me the guy that does the tires was out sick and that I should try another CG. I called Roswell and spoke to a young girl and she said they could r&r the tires while I weighed and that they had the tubes I needed. The tire guy wanted me to leave them for about three hours, I drove twenty miles to get there and didn't want to turn this into a whole day affair. I was told you could do the work while I weighed, but he wasn't happy and I showed.

Yeah... I've had some issues with cycle gear tire changes.
Basically, if I want them to change the tires, I order the tires and tubes from them for delivery to their store and then I bring the bike to them.
But if you bought the tubes from them... well, one would think they should cover it even if you bought the tires elsewhere... but I understand why they wouldn't want to.

I think if you want any shop to warranty the work, you really need to buy all the parts from them. The parts are a big part of their profit. It's a bummer, but it's how most shops I have dealt with work.
