There are no long stretches of pipe so it will probably give the same level of protection as steel. the bike is relatively light, it might be different if it was a heavy weight.

I checked the price for us here in Oz - bars are $30 and shipping is $60.

I like the idea of Aluminum.
It may absorb a bit more in the classic parking lot drop.
Better to have bent crash bars than a ripped case.

Thanks for sharing these, I've placed an order and will post a short review.

I've been looking for frame sliders but haven't found a style I like, and most offer limited protection or are overpriced.

I think the only way to properly review these is to drop the bike and see if they offer any protection or if you are better off with TRex bars if you want to be sure your bike will be safe after a drop.

Easy to solve, next time one of your friends who has never ridden a motorcycle says "that looks cool, can i try", just say yes and close your eyes
... happened to me plenty of times... motorcycles are heavier than Huffys.
🥺

That said, I am sure that proper aluminum tubing will help in most situations where you would expect to pick it up and keep going. (Probably just not going to hold their shape for repeated drops as well as their steel counterparts)

Bear in mind that bars offer very limited protection in a crash at highway speeds. They are limited to slow drops where the bike doesn't have a lot of forward momentum.

Large bikes often end up with bent frames and forks in a crash, so bars bolted to the outside aren't expected to do better.

Check out this video on how the company tests it's bars. My other bike is the road version of this Tiger 900. Ouch.

20210613_161643.jpg20210613_161627.jpgHere are the T-Rex bars I ordered these before Aliexpress had there version for sale, IMHO they look pretty good in person, there was blemish in the finish and looks like T-Rex is going to refund 15% which is okay.

Perhaps this thread should be renamed tools and parts non-domestic (aliexpress)
Received my euro5 plug to obd2 for sv401, tested on my ancient scanner, read vin, scanned no codes.

Agree, although I haven't seen any frame slider manufacturers showing before and after crash evidence.

I did receive the crash bars frame protectors from Aliexpress (JGZ Lava Blade Store). They're pretty well made, thick pipe, decent welds, ok painting - 1.8kg (4lb).
However, unfortunately the spacers are the incorrect length (could be resolved with washers), and the LHS bars collide with the exhaust lambda sensor on the >20 models so won't fit.

The supplier added the below image after my purchase. I have contacted the supplier but they're only offering a credit for their store.
Don't order these unless you have a '18-19 model.
