Coolant overflow.

Oh, and one other interesting finding. The factory recommends Motorex M3.0 coolant... which is PINK. And the coolant in the bike is GREEN. So I guess they don't follow their own recommendation.
I'll be replacing with engine ice next year regardless, to match my other bikes.
Yes, I noticed this too. I put a question about it on the other forum a while back, but got no replies. Basically if I want to top up the original green coolant, but the recommended coolant is pink, can I mix them or do I have to drain out all the green stuff and replace entirely with pink Motorex M3.0?

Since we are dealing with an unknown green coolant, it is a mystery. I lost some of the coolant and needed to top it up, so I just used a bit of distilled water.
Personally, I wouldnt mix the pink and green. I'm just going to prioritize replacing it.

Its antifreeze, the kind that comes out of large containers, probably barrels or trucks.

Motorex sponsors the manufacturers recommendation section.

Key words: silicate free (or sacrifice your water pump?)

Go with whichever quality product is available locally and save the planet from excessive logistics.

It only take one liter anyways, smaller containers are not available. (I made the foolish mistake of putting 1.1 Liter inside and it ended up on the muffler via overflow tube the first few rides)

If someone told me "Mr. Savage Sir, changing the coolant for 8 Euros, Sir, will improve overal engine performance, Sir, and we would highly recommend it, Sir, Mam, Sir.", than I wouldn't have waited so long to begin with.

While my bike is still under warranty I'll be using the recommended stuff thanks.
And in the car world at least, green antifreeze is the standard "change it every 2 years" coolant, whereas the pink colour designates 'long life' coolant, which lasts for 5 to 7 years. But as I said, in the bike (specifically Husqvarna) world, I am not sure, and don't wish to speculate.

I would like to see the letter from a manufacturer that states they will not cover a warantee claim because, although the fluid's specification and change intervals where followed and documented, the name on the bottle was different than the "recommended" name brand. (Especially when they dont use it to begin with...)

No projection intended at anyone, but I CAN agree that some dealers are very stingy when it comes to putting their fluids inside and will pull a trick move where they can.

Me too, just bought 1Ltr. Motorex M 3.0 coolant as stated in workshop manual which is red . Both the 401 and the svartpilen 125 I have are green and I know the 125 coolant is original. So have ordered Motorex M5.0 coolant ....well the "M5.0" on the bottle is green is silicate free ...and its for racing... the manual recommends contacting the coolant manufacturer for info...why not Husqvarna ?.
On the topic of GREEN I spotted a dark green Australian built svartpilen much older than mine with great paint on engine and no rusty fixings unlike the flake Indian poster paint and corroding fixings on my great to ride bikes .And not to mention the aesthetics of the wiring seen through the lovely trellis frame looking like the inside of a 1980s washing machine. Oops I'm ranting again

So i just noticed today that my coolant level is right above the min level reading on the expansion tank, but the dealer is closed on sun-mon, so ive been researching all day whether i can just buy an alternative "Silicate-, Nitrite-, Amine- Borate- and Phosphate-free " coolant, pre mixed, and just top off the coolant...

i found some dex cool which is similar to the motorex m3, diff color, but it could just be dyed a different color? as long as the chemicals are the same it should be good, even says on the back it can be used to top off without a flush...

but on the other hand i just got this bike and shes finally starting to work out for me, not sure if i want to tempt the fates

but anyways, if anyones ever tried mixing it, chime in, let us know haha

did read on some other muscle car forums that they felt they had some issues after using dex cool
