Hey all, I'm looking for advice on a fix for a battery-related issue I'm experiencing with my 2022 Svartpilen 401.

Summary of issue: after about a year with the bike, I started having a recurring issue every couple of days/weeks where my bike's battery would cut out while driving (engine cuts out, check engine light comes on). Usually, after a minute or two, I could start the bike again and drive it, but the check engine light would stay on for another day or so.

I replaced the stock battery with another stock battery, which didn't fix the issue. I then replaced it with an aftermarket Kimpex battery, which I thought fixed the problem until it started happening again about a month or two later.

Has anyone had this issue before? I'm pretty sure it isn't an issue with the ground, but some other form of battery connection issue.

Any input/tips would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Do you have anything electrical connected to the bike that wasn’t there to begin with?

OK, then that makes it harder. Is it not still under warranty so you can just take it to the dealer? Has the dealer investigated?
Unfortunately, it's no longer under warranty. I brought it to a dealer last summer when the battery issue first started - all they did was replace the stock battery with another stock battery, which didn't resolve the issue. They said they couldn't identify any other issues at the time

I would email Husqvarna motorcycles if the dealer doesn’t fix it. The 2 year warranty should be international. And if you have raised the issue when the bike was under warranty, then it’s definitely an issue that has been there during the warranty time, meaning Husqvarna needs to fix it under warranty. I don’t know how warranties work in Canada, but within EU that would count as warranty.

The bike was purchased in 2021 and thus the 2 years have already passed, but you might have a point about back-dating the warranty to the date when the battery issue was first brought to a dealer, which was likely just before the 2-year warranty ended. I will contact Husqvarna on this.

I also forgot to mention some details earlier - when I brought the bike to the dealer to have it checked out, they used a diagnostics tool and it showed a lot of codes which they said were consistent with low voltage, hence the battery replacement.
