Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search on here but nothing came up.
My bar end inserts (the threaded bits inside the bar that the weights screw into) look like they are glued in. I thought they would come out quite easy but they are not moving, either inwards or out. Does anyone know if they are glued in a the factory? It’s a 2023 Svartpilen 401 btw.
Thank you in advance, Jes.

I haven't tried to remove them on my Vit but I did try to remove them on my previous bike, a 2019 Honda CB300R.

It was very difficult and I gave up. The right way to do it is to use an impact drill. My drill did not have enough torque and stripped the screw heads. I ended up just replacing the entire bar, easier.

There is a vibration absorbing insert in the Honda bar that rotates when trying to remove the bar end weight screws, so the drill has to have lots of torque.

Once you get the Honda bars ends off you have to fish the inserts out of the bar which is an even more difficult task.

I will try a socket allen bit. I have tried a long bolt screwed in and whacking it with a hammer but it did not move, I do not want to go too mad as most parts seem to be be quite soft metal and fragile.

I agree, a couple of the allen bolts on the Svart have been soft and did strip. Had to drill them out. The bar ends were good though on mine. I think the extra leverage with the ratchet will work. Let us know.
