So I see a couple of the new members have "Automatics"... and I know nothing about these!

But can some of you guys tell me more about them?
Do you still ride them? What is it like?
Is it like riding a bike with a rekluse clutch?
Are they popular in vintage racing?
Why do you think Husky stopped making them?
Any pictures of the mechanism?

Never used a rekluse clutch
When you cut off the gas on an auto, the bike is in freewheel ( no motor brake !).
The gears change automaticly, no need to cut off the gas.
We don't see a lot of them in vintage racing ( in France).
I think they stop auto production when Husqvarna moved from Sweden to Italy.
Try to hear the gear changing at full throttle.

It is remarkable how removing the clutch lever makes the bike look strange!
More owner pictures please! Do you ride your "automatic" often?

Rekluse clutch compare:
Roll off the throttle and there is motorbrake until you go slower than just above Idle.

Gears change manually with the shift lever, quick shifter can be used so you also dont need to let off the gas for shifts.
 
My 82 420AE not restored with 53 original miles. I have the original back tire with the Husky gunsight logo molded into the tread. (not on the bike)
