Anyone seen anything like this? (clutch wear)

I don't believe that those marks are unusual. I've seen them on my motorcycles before. If there are raised edges, they might be catching your clutch plates though, and this might account for unusual performance. If so, you should consider smoothing them out with a stone. From what I can make out in the picture, they look simply burnished or smoothed/polished relative to the rest of the tooth.

Yup, and when these marks are pronounced enough they WILL make the clutch slip, because the plates are caught in these little dents and won’t slide sideways as easy anymore.

Guess we all gonna agree that there are alot of pieces in the clutch and any one of them can make it act up.

Sometimes aged springs are enough to lower performance...

Feel the grooves with your finger and visibly assess / measure everything.

Worst case a clutch kit will run a buck fifty.

It was a rhetorical question (because a new plate pack will still ride in the old notches, making the clutch slip again).

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm using motorex like is recommended. No obvious evidence of burnt plates. I've noticed the clutch spring revision has changed, so not sure if that's linked. I've got the pieces replaced, but am now paranoid I'm going to have the same problem in another 7k miles :S

If it works it works.

After exclusively using motorex for years, I switched away from motorex to other products because they dont offer the stuff I used to buy & I found the new stuff to be "too slippery" feeling.

may be something to keep in mind for the next service.

i thought motul 300V 15W60 is recommended by everyone but ktm??!

I've had issues with plate warpage that inhibits full clutch disengagement. When your clutch was apart, did you check for plate flatness?
