Still need a tail tidy solution as all we’ve seen won’t work with the tire and pipe. Planning on fabricating unless someone has found the right answer. The akrapovic sits very tall.
It depends on whether you will keep the stock exhaust and the stock indicators/turn signals; and also on your crafting possibilities.
Your french number plates are quite wide; that makes it even more challenging.
With the stock exhaust and the stock indicators the most simple solution should be the "Top Block" (with the heatshield) or the "Zieger/Ibex" with the additional indicator brackets to fit the stock indicators.
What is the problem with the tire; and will you keep the stock indicators?
Compared to the stock exhaust the Akrapovic is slightly offset to the side; that helps with the high exhaust and the indicator.
Here two pics; it's the adapted Duke 390 (2017-2023) tail tidy with the stock exhaust and with the Akrapovic.
Hi....
I mounted the top-block-part. Until now no Experiences with melted Indicators, but I didn't drive on highway for longer time with higher rotations....
Hope it will stay so next summer with higher temperatures. I like Tom's solution, but I didn't get the duke 390-part until now...
Hi Ralf!
with the Top Block tail tidy the indicators are much wider than required.
To fit the European regulations it needs to be 180mm between the "lighting parts" of the lenses.
As the inner part of the lenses is frosted, you can measure between the transparent part of the lenses.
From the pics it should be quite simple to relocate/modify the indicator brackets; it would definitely help with the exhaust.
Hi Tom,
the top-block-part is a working plug-and-play-solution. To relocate the indicators you need other brackets (or you have to modifie the origins with new holes) and some spacers (min 15mm) to get more distance between indictors and number-plate. It's on my todo-list for coming dark and cold winter days
