Hi all! Got a good deal on an Akrapovic slip-on and am planning on making the DB killer removable by drilling a hole in the carbon. Remember having seen a tutorial at vitpilenforum.com with instructions/measurements on where to drill to get the hole aligned with the screw underneath, but that forum seems to have been down for a while.

Anyone in here who's done it and could give some insight on where to drill? Would be a bummer to ruin a still rather expensive slip-on by not drilling at the right spot :)

If anyone is yet to perform this operation and is hesitant on how to do and where to drill, here's a few images and description. I could have drilled a couple of mm up and towards the back, but this was close enough to reach the bolt :)

Put on some masking tape and started out with a 3mm drill and worked my way upwards to 12mm. The weld on the bolt came off extremely easy with just a twist with a 4mm allen key, took it out with a 8mm socket. I've heard and seen some people giving the db killer a knock with a broom stick from the inside, or using pliers to pull it out, but mine slid out really easy without tools or force.

Now I'm just waiting for the snow to melt away so I can try it on! :)

Now with a sound comparison as well!
Neither my GoPro's internal mics or the iOS dB app can be considered especially exact, but can at least give an idea of the differences.
