Akrapovic and LeoVince Replica / Fake Muffler Exhaust Options

Btw, I know I don't have the exhaust springs installed. I'm going to buy some exhaust sealing paste first because some air is leaking

That will definately reduce atleast 1-2 db when its sealed up right.

Not sure if its worthwhile to experiment, but you may get a sound more appealing to you with a different db killer.

You are right, I might get a few of those and make some experiments.

I've been riding a bit more and I'm starting to get used to the sound. But I mightdo some tweaks

Not sure about that, mine doesn't have any hole to attach a DB-killer. Do you know where that one attaches?

This is what mine looks like inside:

It doesn't have anywhere to attach a DB-Killer. Unless I modify it in some way. If I have time I might get a few DB-killers like the one that came with the exhausts and modify them in some way to change the exhaust note.

Update on the SC Project replica:

I just got a new DB killer. Similar to the one that came with the exhaust, but this one has a metalic mesh. This is a good compromise between the stock exhaust and the loud SC replica, which was pretty loud. I may make some extra holes to get closer to the SC, but this is a good compromise for city riding IMO.

Didn't really push the bike, but it didn't feel bad. But performance is probably not that great since I haven't fixed the leak yet.

Thanks for the tip on the slots! I might give that a try

Yeah, I also personally find it easier to make slots straight with a 125mm cutting wheel than it is to line up holes to be evenly distributed with a 4mm drill bit. 🙈

It sits between the exhaust "can" and the connection pipe that goes between the "can" and the premuffler. So it's a pain in the a** to take it out. The "can" must be taken out to get to the DB killer.

That mesh looks like catalytic convertor material. It's typically like a rolled up piece of corrugated cardboard.

Yes for sure, I think when it looks like that and they call it a db killer its the exact same as Cat except they didnt put the precious metal coating on it, and it works at reducing the sound on newer bikes the same as it did for older bikes when it was actually a cat in the silencer.

Finally got the Carbon Fiber Leo Vinci Replica mounted!

It took a while because when I bought the muffler I didn't realize I needed a new exhaust exit piece that was different from the 2019 and earlier models.
Eventually I figured out the piece from a KTM 390 Adventure would work! So I bought this one:

With the dB killer installed, it sounds very similar to the stock muffler. Without the dB killer it has a deeper tone, but doesn't seem much louder.

And here is the Replica Akrapovic. If I decide to use this one I will shorten the exit pipe about 10mm to move the muffler hanger strap toward the back a little bit.
With the dB killer the sound is very similar to the stock and CF Leo replica. Remember, I have the cat and resonator/pre-muffler still and those really muffle stuff. And without the dB killer it sounds a bit depper, again similar to the CF Leo replica.

So with the stock muffler weighing 2094g, the Replica Akrapovic at 1028g saves 1066g or 2.4 pounds.
