And after 2,000 km, it's fall!!! Sunday, after stopping to take a pict, I shot the engine on starting and can't put my feet on the ground. In the pict you can see the damage, there's a scratch on the right hand guard, too, but fairings are save.

Ufoortunately, the spare costs, here in Italy, 176 euro!!!! It's come with the plastic honeycomb between tank and cover, but I mean it'an excessive cost!

So I'm thinking to a crash bar. I would have chosen these from Hepco & Becker, but again the price is quite high. Strange that the painted ones cost less than the natural ones, I would have preferred the latter. But the question is: are those of the KTM 890 ADV fitted? Because the price is much cheaper, and I believe that Mr. Hepco is riding the Norden trend ....

Your Ok I hope.

Crash bars can a double edged sword on modern bikes... it can save 150 euro of part if you tip over, at the risk of damaging the 2000 euro frame...

Lucky you did not break the levers, which would be another 150...

Repair the part cosmetically if you like as there is no damage to the fuel tank.
If it were mine, I would not add the extra weight of crash bars.
Super nice bike… wishing I had mine too… as it is waiting for me in Mississippi.

*Edit*
Cover with a layer of carbon fiber or glass.

Same thing happened to my tank cover, just a slow speed tipover and it is cracked. $260 Canadian + tax and not available until June! I'm going with axp skidplate.

I'm not entirely convinced of AXP. Aesthetically I find it a bit invasive, but so are the crash bars, but the real doubt is above all about the protection: the honeycomb that fixes the tank under the aluminum cover must be removed, and is replaced by a very small piece of foam which the manufacturer claims both to protect the tank itself from rubbing (I guess the plate). So the shock dissipation is the responsibility of the aluminum brackets, which work more or less in the same points as the bars ... maybe AXP should post a movie of a crash? ;)

Theres a OEM high screen available as a accessory. As you can see, its quite a bit higher than the standard screen. Not sure it complements the design, so function maybe the only reason you would buy it, if indeed it improves the airflow. When I test rode a 901, the standard screen was an issue, causing turbulence and noise.

So let me get this straight, in addition to whichever bikes you look after at your normal "place of business", you have further bikes in Mississippi which wait for you?

I mean... how often do roll down there to knock the dust off that *expletive deleted*?

I moved to the South & sold most of my bikes up in Washington State… still a couple still on consignment waiting to close. Keeping the Vit 701, DR 650 Suzuki & 2003 RC51 Track bike & Picking up the Norden very soon after Barber Track Day this weekend.

Haha still rocking it. 😎
On track tomorrow morning with it.
So to an untrained eye, the bike looks stock along with tank & tail ”luggage racks”, haha.
But really need higher rear sets… something more to look into.

Since moving and spending the past Three weeks driving a pickup truck and trailer around, I though that I would take a break from that mode of transportation and travel by train. The plan was to begin traveling today from Louisiana to Tennessee & rent a car to Mississippi for the purpose of taking delivery of my new Norden 901. But, I awoke today to find out that the first leg of the train ride was seriously delayed to the extent that I had to cancel all my plans. A flight has now been booked for May 22nd which should put me in a position to finally take delivery of my Norden on Monday, May 23rd… fingers crossed.
