Guys, I received a set of ABM super bike bars today, the top yolk doesn’t have the mounting bracket for the headlight, is this right?

Thanks, all became apparent when the vendor sent me colour instructions in English (rather than the dodgy black and white photo copied ones in German that came with the bars)

Chaps, another question (Sorry!) I’m trying to dismantle the plastic cover that contains the handlebar wiring connections behind the headlight, I’ve removed 4 screws, 2 in the front and 2 under the indicators, the two halves still seem to be attached is there another screw or fixing?

There's 4 in the front and 2 under the indicators, and the two pieces sort of click together, so they need some persuasion to separate.

Thanks, I found the other 2 on the front (lights in the garage aren’t great! How about the trim on the back of the tank, looks like it should pull off, but I’m a bit afraid I might break something

The bit between the tank and the seat?
That is held in place with a couple screws I think.
The black plastic bit on the front of the tank, behind the stem, that's clicked in place, and I find it a pain to remove. Needs quite a bit of force.

I use one of those red plastic tire-weight-removal tools; just slide it in between at the front next to where it snaps together, and then twist/lift a little.

Goes pretty easy like that and doesnt remove the paint...

Yep, the black plastic part at the front was fine, it’s the green plastic part at the rear of the tank that I’m struggling with, I’ve ordered the workshop manual on CD, hopefully that will illuminate me 😀

Why do you want it removed? You can remove the tank assembly without removing that panel. You only need to remove the seat and the black trim panel on the front to uncover the bolts.

I thought the tank cover separated into 2 halves, and this seems to connect both halves? I’m trying to get to the handlebar wiring connections to reroute the cables for the ABM bars

The tank cover is two halves, but if you want to reroute cables, you probably want to remove the entire tank, not just the covers. And you can remove the whole thing with the covers still on the tank.
There's two bolts in the back, under the seat, and 1 bolt in the front under the black trim piece.
Remove those, you can then lift the tank a bit at the rear to undo the fuel connector and the fuel pump and fuel lever connector.
There's a black vent hose on the left hand front under the trim piece that you can undo, or just pull out with the tank.
Just look at the routing or take pictures.
And then you can just lift the whole tank of the bike, with the covers still in place.

Most of the bikes wiring runs under the tank, so like @nampus describes, removing the whole is probably the way to go.

Dont know any reasons to remove the plastics except when you make changes to the plastics

Thanks chaps, heading back out to the garage now (supposed to be gardening, but the wife’s gone out!)
