801 owners club

I believe our fuel tank has a Max of 12.5 litres usable. I run out of fuel once (only bike It has happened in 25 years) and I could add only 12 litres.
The first time and only time i ran out of petrol was with a Kawasaki zxr 400.
Hard to start up the engine again (carbs)
Since then i never let a bike go so far in low petrol...

Far too hot today to have a ride here in France so I work on the bike to improve the position and ergonomy

First I turned the handlebar clamp to have it some millimètres in my direction, like it is forseen in the manual

Then I adapt some new bar end mirrors. They come from a Zontes 125. With the Husqvarna model, I see too much m'y arms so I wanted to have the mirrors closer to the tank

Awesome, what tank bag is that, please?
It's a tanklock bag from GIVI, the best and safest solution I found yet for all the bikes I had. It never scratch the paint of the tank, you don't have to worry if it is magnetic or not
Don't ask me the reference of the ring, I used the one for my 2020 401 but it was to high so I changed for an other model that is lower to the tank

Here is the gap between the tank and the bag

And this is the bag model

Thank you, I was looking for Givi bags but couldn't find the right tank lock. I'll have a look at the 401 fitment.

Second time in one moth my vitpilen goes back to the shop on a crane...
The 1st time they recharged the battery instead of installing a new one. They said It was the protocole before changing It for a new one.
Finally a lost weekend because a dry battery....
Not so happy with my dealer so far ..

It's is far too small for me when I leave for a daytrip or more, to take my rain protection, bottle of water, map and roadbook always visble, phone and money, etc...
The Husqvarna tank bag fits my needs for most of my daytrips very well; with a bottle of water, a second visor, phone, money, etc; but no rain gear.
In very hot or possibly rainy weather, I occasionally use one of the Kriega rear bags as an addition; either for a small cooler bag with cooling pads to carry some more and cold drinks or sometimes for my rain gear.

View attachment 8552View attachment 8552Has anyone tried replacing the bar ends?
I ordered these bar ends for the Duke 790 thinking they'd fit but the lock in mechanism with the brass piece isn't easily replaceable.

The silver spacers on the new lever, I tried reducing the size by removing one spacer but I'd need to remove the brass piece completely and hammer in the silver piece, but I risk making it forever stuck inside the handlebar.

Does anyone have any tips?
Thanks guys

if it were me and i didn't have access to fabricate them, I'd buy the stock Handlebar ends Ref 28502903144 from husky, and swap out the hardware from the ones you bought, then use the hardware from the kit from husky along with the brass weights off the originals.

It would nevertheless need some modification; the knob of the stock bar end weight would have to be sawn off; it's not plug and play, but it also shouldn't be particularly difficult either.
