801 320mm brake discs

Coming off a Husqvarna 900R, I'm a bit underwhelmed with the brakes.
So thanks for the write-up, hope this can help me decide on switching disks (to 320mm) or calipers (to Monoblocks).

I had one, bought from new and sold a couple of years ago.
Yes, it's hard not to compare the two bikes...

Everything is reassembled, torqued as required and fits perfect; and if you don't know it, you probably won't even notice it...

Here a feedback...
Yesterday I did a first little longer daytrip with the Brembo Oro (320mm) discs and the sintered pads; now about 350km with them.
About 150km were quite harsh (often very "hooliganish") riding on twisty backroads.
I have expected that it would be an improvement, but it is even better than I had expected; I'm very impressed.
The brake is now a "one-finger" brake (if you want it to be) with a very sensitive pressure point.
At all I'm more than happy with the performance; that's how it should be stock; and definitely no need to add some Stylema calipers or a different pump.

Great, thank you!
It's surprising there is a change in feedback, since the master pump nor the calipers have changed.

It will probably be the friction of the different to stock materials (brake discs and brake pads) that makes the big difference.

I’m not surprised. I haven’t swapped brake parts on any motorcycle but on a MTB you can easily notice the difference in brake disc diameter.

Although I think my 801 has enough brake power, I wish the initial bite of the brakes was better. For me, It feels like there is a tiny amount of delay between applying brake pressure and feeling the front brakes engage. Switching the ABS-mode to supermotard seems to make the brake feel a bit more direct, but still I wish it had a bit more initial bite.

Do you recognize this braking behavior on your bike before the replacing the discs? If so, did your mod change this for the better?

Does anyone have experience with changing just the brakepads to sintered pads from EBC or brembo to improve the initial bite?

The performance of the brakes increased quite noticeable and the "initial bite" is now absolutely fine to me.
