So KTM is bringing back the 790 duke which doesn’t serve a purpose with the 890 being out but can’t give us a Vitpilen 801 or 901? Wtf

They sell 890s like ice cream on a hot day.

Heres the one I test drove:

I wonder if the new 790 wont be just a 890L engine with a new name.

Reading the articles it seems like just a reboot of the original 790, there is also the rumor of the 890 going to a 990 which would make the 790 make more sense.

I just want a new vitpilen, I hate the riding position and styling of the dukes but they are such good bikes….

I don't want a bigger Vitpilen, it's a such a lightweight racer wich fits my curvy hometrails like a glove, and I don't have to double smash speed limits to have fun.
I'd rather put some carbon wheels on her, before I would change it for a bigger bike..

Main reason they state is the A2 version in Europe (which has 95hp unrestricted, but 47hp on A2).

I don't get it either...

You have a point there.

I just want an excuse to have another vitpilen, the 401 doesn’t make sense because it’s basically the same weight as the 701 with less power but I can make the excuse to buy a 801,901 or 1301…. A more highway friendly vitpilen would be good out west here with the long distances.

I like the 401, is a great bike with plenty of power for the city and extremely fun on tight mountain roads. However I do agree that I would love a Vit or Svart with the 890 engine.

I like the look of the early 401 vitpilens with the high exhaust and kind of wanted to justify getting one but the weight just threw me off, I was expecting it to be sub 300lbs. I love my 701 in the twisties and town but a 901 would be nice for long distance high speed rides..

Tbh, I never liked the 401’s.
I never fell in love with the brown stripe on the 701 pipe.

And the flat white paint on the 401 was not for me.

I think the Svart. 401 needed to have like 5 more horsies and stripped from all the snik-snak (like AbS) in order to be optimal.

I would consider a triumph speed triple 1200 rr

for highspeed cruising a true naked bike isn't the right choice.. you want at least a bikini fairing
for me
a single cylinder is like a todler
a twin like an strong older man
a four cyclinder like a healthy adult
and a triple like lemmy from Motörhead

I was so excited for it to be launched and was pretty letdown when it did by the design, the lines seem wrong to me.. but I saw a white one at the local triumph dealer last weekend and it looked much better in person.,,,

The hawk 11 on the other hand, did they even try to design if? Looks like a “neo” fairing slapped onto a heavy adventure bike…
