Hello everyone

I am currently having a starting problem on my brand new 2024 svartpilen 401. When i press the ignition button, it makes clicking sounds without starter motor noise and won’t start until 5. or 6. attempt. Altough sometimes it starts normally. The battery voltage is fine, about 12,9 V. Does anyone have this problem?

There is a video link below

Thank You!

Try tightening the 2 bolts on the starter solenoid under the seat (well it is under the seat on 2023 model) also you should only hit the starter button once, do not hold it on, it should be a one touch start. This should be stated in your manual.
With this being a brand new bike you might consider contacting the dealer if the above does not sort it. Good luck.

Thank you! I did tighten the 2 bolts on the starter solenoid and the problem currently seems to be solved. Because it’s doing it randomly, I’ll see how it’s gonna be in the long run.

You have 2024 Svartpilen 401?

Have you posted pics?

Lol. This is amazing to me. I had this problem on a adv trip (in the middle of nowhere New Brunswick). Rode my 2021 Svart 500 km that day with this issue (not starting) …made sure to ALWAYS stop on a hill lol…it would always start popping the clutch.

Got back to the hotel that night and found nothing online, so went over the bike myself and found THOSE EXACT TWO BOLTS loose as anything like they never bothered to tighten them!!!

No problems since that day 2 years ago! I just can’t believe 3 model years later this simple, stupid issue is still around. Unreal. I haven’t had any other issues though. Valve clearance were very out (too much gap)…anyway haha

You said the problem is "doing it randomly"......also check the battery connections, and if it still persists any other electrical connection related to starting.

Actually it’s been 9 days and the bike is starting perfectly since i tightened the 2 screws on the starter solenoid.

Also i checked the battery connections too.
