Reporting back after a while and many tries. Did not work. Bummer.I'll try and report back.
You could put the bike up on a paddock stand, start the engine, put it into first and spin the rear wheel. I do this to lube the chain. Theoretically this should have turned off the ABS if you keep the engine running.
