2020 SP 701 ABS

You can't switch off ABS on the Svart 701, only TC.
Yes, that's the point we are discussing.
The svart is marketed as the Adventure-ish version of the two and won't allow for abs to be turn off, which would be ideal on a trail.
Don't you agree?

My manual says switchable rear only . You might have missed it a page back if we posted same time

I don't see the part where it says it's switchable in that page you posted.
Would you please post the part where the procedure
to switch it off is. Thank you.

Swtching ABS off is the same sequence.
Thank you @Max Kool, but this is your Vitpilen's manual.
I was asking @Satur9 to please show me the page on his manual that shows how to do it. I can't find it on mine, but he just told us his has it.

Should be but the svartpilen manual doesn't say on the combination instrument page. At least for 2020. Anybody got a 19 to check. Btw I have done it before.

Anyways... those who have svartpilen only need to try... for Vitpilen 701 it is the same as the 401... you need ride (like till the abs light goes off) then stop completely and push both the top and bottom button at the same time and then a message come like Keep Pressed or somrthing, then it says Release, then release the buttons and the Not Legal message appears and the ABS light comes on.

I have heard people say that the 701 doesnt turn off, on my 701 Vitpilen the first 20 times I tried I totally failed, untill I got off the bike to use 2 hands to pussh the buttons.

You could put the bike up on a paddock stand, start the engine, put it into first and spin the rear wheel. I do this to lube the chain. Theoretically this should have turned off the ABS if you keep the engine running.

I'm going to have to try this tomorrow

I keep lingering on this issue.
Now, I'm wondering if installing a Vitpilen's ECU would make the Svartpilen capable of turning off both TC and ABS?

And here's the outcome...

Did you ride before switching it off to find out if the light goes off?

Rode it today and the light stayed on for the outbound ride, but was off when I started it again after stopping for lunch.

My guess is that the system needs a few km's to learn that the ABS and TC are actually working and there isn't a fault

Old thread, but seemingly relevant info about disabling TC and ABS quickly. Video
I found a #D printable spacer that accomplishes the same. I will try it over the weekend.
