When I bought the bike, I knew that it was going to be problematic to add luggage and it has definitely proven so. Currently, am using a set of competition-sized tank panniers from Aerostich: https://www.aerostich.com/aerostich-tank-panniers.html as well as a Kriega US-10 bag at the rear held by attachment with webbing loops using the under-fender attachment for the tail-tidy (see attachment), which is less than ideal as it is canted to the rear using that attachment and wants to bail off the bike. To somewhat solve this, have to strap it down zinging tight and stuck a piece of friction sheet material (this stuff is really handy as you cut out tank pads or sacrificial wear pads out of it: https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/sho...chtop-accessories/101914-high-friction-sheets) on the seat. By placing it in the pillion seat, it also really reduces the size of the cockpit, which I am still getting used to.
I own a Kriega OS-system (universal base and several adventure packs:https://kriega.us/osadventure-packs-1/os-base) and would like to mount a rear rack so that I can, once again, utilize it. Purchased this rear rack from rearace (https://tinyurl.com/2vtjwbbw) as, at the time, it was advertised as fitting, but it is affixed to the rear handle attachment points which my Vitpilen does not have. Rearace was excellent in that they acknowledged the error and are sending me free foot-peg blocking plates that more than compensate me for having to ship it back to them for refund.
I realize that Husqvarna does sell a rear bag with attachment hardware that mounts below the fender, but it is extremely expensive and does not give me anything more than what I already have. Anyone have any luck with finding a rear rack that fits, and/or have created their own hardware to attach a rear rack and would be so kind as to share specifics?
