    Winter Warriors! Who's still riding?

Still riding although it’s been below freezing recently. I just have swapped to rising the svart 401 because I don’t want to ride the 801 with salt all over the roads. I’ll bring the 801 back out once it gets washed off.

    Almost finished? Probably not!

Looks great! Agree on it being the prettiest, every time I walk out to it from the store it looks good. No matter what angle.

Looking good! Excited to see the final product.

I don’t think you can get more bang for your buck than an 801 right now. I wasn’t planning on buying one either but the price was so low I kind of had to. When the price drops so close to a 401 it’s a no brainer.

    "Tweaked" 801 stock muffler

I ended up removing the baffle, sounds great! I might try to make a removable baffle like yours to cut down the droning for long trips.

    Dual disk

That’s quick progress! I don’t remember what measurements I had when I installed it but this is how much my forks stick up.

    Dual disk

I did think about it, it would be a lot of work though and then I would have to dyno tune it. With the airbox lid off the stock setup is already so good. If I was going to remake anything I would focus on trying to get the lines and bottom of my lower fairing better.

    Dual disk

I would probably go with a 19mm master because I like how it feels but it’s kind of up to you, the 19 will be more on the “squishy” side and the 20 more on the “wooden” side. I don’t thing the lever ratio matters, to me it’s more of a gimmick and I don’t mess with it much lol I have had the...

    Dual disk

Hi, Let me know if you have any other questions. As I mentioned before, I did this modification on my personal bike so can’t vouch for its safety or that it will work for you. I would have a mechanic check out your build to make sure it’s safe and good to ride, especially when messing with...

Did a test ride, works good. I feel they are a little more progressive than the stock ones. Master cylinder could probably be 1mm larger to reduce the spongyness. I should have done some distance stopping measurements before I swapped out the rotors and calipers.

Got the 890R brake line in and was bored so I ended up pulling the bike apart and installing the brembos. Only took a couple hours but had to remove the gas tank to unearth the abs module. Didn’t get a chance to test ride since it’s 40 F and windy tonight. Brakes feel different. The brake...

I did get the quick shifter unlocked last weekend and although I was still not happy about paying extra, it is so good. The 701 quick shifter is so clunky in comparison. Also ordered the 890R brake lines I’ll need to fit the brembos so hopefully get around to that in the next month or so...

    TC Failure

Funny you posted this, my 701 did the exact same thing yesterday and I also pulled the battery terminal and reset it.

They are a lot of fun, it’s really strange to ride the 701 and 801 back to back, worlds apart. The 701 feels so much lighter but somehow the 801 seems to handle better.

    Paint Thread

I ended up getting some 1016 paint, it wasn’t yellow enough so I put a little neon over it and its really close. Close enough for now.

Now that the pads have bedded in I think there is a noticeable difference in the braking performance. Could be from the larger disc or from the type of metal used for the disk, I think they are higher carbon than the stock ones. I pulled a line off the stock calipers and there is no way it’ll...

    TC Failure

If the magnet is still there you might want to put some epoxy or something over it to keep it in place. I did that on mine and haven’t had any issues.

    Turn signals

Ended up using sequential up front and non in the back and one set of resistors to get them working right. Really have to make sure the engine is running when checking them since the extra voltage made the wattage change, had to rewire and swap signals because of that.

Mirrors, blind spot detection and dashcam

Agreed the stock mirrors are bad, I just use the below bars style and head check to eliminate any blind spots if needed….

    Turn signals

Couldn’t sleep on it so I went back out and pulled it all apart, swapped the right rear non sequential up front left. It still hyper flashed on that side so I went down to just one resistor set in the rear and now it’s flashing good and no fault. Ordered another set of non sequential signals so...
