Yeah the muffler at the end does it's part to reduce the noise emission. Hence why many do a slip on exhaust

Taken from Cycle World, I would set my last one at 10k or less. This is how I decided where to set the indicators on my vitpilen.

I've only had mis-shifts between 1 and 2 when I'm not adamant about the shift. I go into actual neutrals, I've heard other bikes have the same false neutral issue though.
