I run 30 front and 28-29psi rear on the vitpilen. Lower than on bigger bikes.

I think we're on a similar boat. Stock tires lasted 2100kms. Center was fine on front but 2/3 to the edge was shot. The ones I have now are better than the S21 although the S21 is a really good tire.

Michelin Power GP front and Power RS rear here.

I've only used their steering dampers and they were of high quality.

Keep in mind that the pressures @Reynolds posted are for track use which is close to what I run on the road, but if you have a lot of potholes and such, bump the front pressure a couple of psi to be on the safe side and not damage a rim. 31-32F and 29-30R work well and is pretty safe on this...

Congrats 👏 Check tire pressure, oil level, adjust controls to your liking and just ride it. Needs nothing.

The road I mostly ride is very bumpy and rough in some sections, so it's good to hear that. I think I'll go this route.

On a straight line or highway use, yes, it will feel slow compared to an S1000R, but that's not what this bike is for. I have two liter bikes that are way faster but on the mountain pass I typically ride the Vitpilen is just as fast and more fun. The bike is very light/nimble, has good power...

I'm about to order this same kit but with the R2 rear shock since i prefer to keep it simple. The Nitron cartridge kit seems to be of betTer quality than the Andreani but I don't think there's been any testing done on the kit besides you. You're the first with this cartridge kit, correct?

@Vatte 13mm shorter is quite a bit. Combine that with a softer spring and the bike will be very low at the rear. Are you planning to address that?

The O2 plug is if you want to remove the O2 sensor since it will be disconnected after you install the dongle.

Looks great. I have a a 15/42 set on the shelf and I haven't installed because it feels great with the stock gearing where I ride (mostly a mountain pass and no city)

It looks really good. I don't think it will run lean, even with a short muffler, if the cat is still in place. Nice job on the bike.

I doubt @Ray R exhaust is glowing orange at idle and at WOT high rpm any exhaust will glow.

How and what will it adjust itself without an O2 reading?

I really don't care about gaining a couple HP. I want it to sound and ride a specific way. I have a 200+HP race bike to go fast on. This bike is just so damn cool and I have a visión for it that I hope I can execute.

BTW, a stock bike with a cat will benefit just as much from tune. What I'm wondering is if when decated if it will be further from optimal then when stock.

I'm familiar with tuning, AFRs, etc. What I haven't seen (perhaps haven't looked enough) are dyno runs from individuals, not shops, of a vitpilen 701 with a decat with a chamber and no tune. I don't mind spending on a pcv but why do it if not needed. Also different regions have different gas...
