Not good. It might pay u to check other important components for movement. If necessary reloctite (where appropriate)......retorque...........better safe than sorry. Also check to see if there have been any safety recalls on your bike.....there were a few on my 701 but they had all been done.

I have the same removeable cover as you when i purchased by 701 2nd hand but since i'm incredibly paranoid i put a steel mess filter on top with a very fine stainless steel mesh underneath....when i get more motivated i'll do it better.
