    Design lines

I was trying to put my finger on what looked so off about the 801 and it reminded me of another bike that I was excited for but also looked off, the triumph 1200 rr. It has to be the forward sloping lines. The 801 tries to combat it with the tank extensions that go forward which I suspect are...

    Who is getting one?

I think if I didn’t have a 701 and only had my 401 I would be looking at the 801 too, although used 701s are pretty plentiful in the US. I agree with you on those aluminum radiator side panels 100%. I wish they would have at least paid Kiska to look over the new 801. The original 701 was so true...

    That’s good to know!

    Who is getting one?

And using the Chinese made 790 engine in their “premium” lineup is very off putting. Now if they surprise me and down the road release a 901 vitpilen I will be very interested.

    Who is getting one?

I am in the exact same boat. There are alot of things that disappointed me with this bike but also a lot of good. I just don’t know if I want to do the work to make it what I want. That and if the FSR900 GP comes to the US I would take that hands down. I think they made a mistake leaning into...

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

I think the reason the side panels bother me so much is because they should like up with the stripe on the tank but don’t and look like an afterthought.

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

That’s strange, the US site doesn’t show the fly screen in the accessories

I wonder where the extra 14lbs vs the duke are at, maybe the aluminum tail section?

In the US it’s about a $1400 premium to the duke so hopefully some of it’s included. You would think if it was not there would have to be an asterisk or disclaimer on the paragraph talking about wheelie control

That’s what I’m saying, it shows that pack so is the only thing included the quick shifter?

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

It’s kind of hard to tell what electronics are included, it says the quick shifter is included and talks about wheelie control but then the tech pack also talks about wheelie control. Disappointed they are doubling down on the pay to unlock features. Even cruise control is a separate cost

Those radiator side covers are terrible. Like that they kept that cool exhaust end cap.

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

I wonder why they decided to not do a vitpilen 801… good catch on that photo.. maybe they tried to water down the styling and paint to appeal to a wider market. You would think it would have more sense to do a spoke wheeled svart and mag wheel vit and at least differentiate that way.

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

Might be some good customs at least. The original vitpilen was so good almost all the customs like the bad winners one just ruined it. This one you can at least mess with the paint to make it look better.

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

Looks kind of boring compared to the original svart and vit colors, guess it’s in line with the black arrow name but can’t say I’m that excited.

Totally agree! I am hoping the reason they don’t bring it to the US is our rediculous lighting rules. Same reason all the US vitpilens have those big dumb turn signals

Also need them to release it before the Yamaha 900 GP comes to the US, I wouldn’t be able to choose between the two lol.

If they hold it back it would be sick if they had a optional fairing like the aero vitpilen… I know, dreams…

    401 Supermoto Build

Nice build! Really interested to see what it looks like when you get it done!

Svartpilen 801 soon to be a reality.

True, just doesn’t seem to be a huge difference between the two where it wouldn’t be hard to bring both to market like the 401s. Now that the Vit doesn’t have clip ons it seems the main difference is the tires.
