I think you’ll have issues if you try to do new controls, the potentiometer that controls the ride by wire is inside that switch housing. I don’t thing changing the grips will cause any problems as long as the part inside the switch gear stays the same.

Yeah, if the paint is something other than all black that will be a positive tho... I will probably wait on the svart in hope of the vitpilen, just because those are all changes I would want to make. It would be nice to buy it with real street tires and lower bars which would save some cost.

It has to do with the lines of the seat point down and not falling in line with that horizontal line. If you look at the 701 there is a slight angle down but on the 801 it is pronounced like the triumph which makes the tail look like it is angled up and messes with the lines of the bike.

True, only differences on the spy pictures were the belly pan, front fender and tires.. I know the off road guys probably aren’t happy, but I’m glad they put 17s on the svartpilen so I can convert it to a vitpilen if I get one.

The cycle world article says they were told it would be available in multiple colors. Seemed like a lot of words to have been a typo.

Looking at it, the 790 does not have its coolant overflow tank there like the svartpilen so I don’t think the smaller covers would work.

IMO the 790 covers would look a lot better.

I was looking at this photo with the covers removed and noticed it does not have the obnoxious radiator side covers. These look much better. Wonder if it was a prototype or what.

I think that exhaust would make the tail look a lot better, I saw an Australian site that had a low mount set up like the original vitpilen that would be interesting.

Finally got it to work, are the prices on there real? Looks like the extra tank covers are only around $100 USD. Thats nice to add some custom color, maybe I’ll have to photoshop it to have the same color scheme as the original vitpilen 701 and see if it looks better.

Yeah, that’s why I think they accentuated those bumps that are actually in line. Unfortunately the other lines are all off. I think the problem is if they had lined the seat and tail up they would have had to make a very high seat height which would not have worked. Even my 701vit seat height...

Really good points, a lot of us have been waiting for the 801 since it was first teased in 2019 ish I think so that’s a lot of expectations. I think it has a lot of potential, just needs a decent amount of work to make it what I want and I’m not sure if I want to go through that effort… low...

I personally am not a huge fan of the 801 but I am kind of surprised by the general dislike of it.

Nice find! Their rendering seems to have the same lines as the final bike, interesting… their radiator covers look better lol

It is possible to look good with a higher tail but it needs to line up with the headlight like a Ducati 916. I think it’s a by product of all these bikes being based on street fighters with the big shoulder sloping forward look.
