    Service manual

Disregard, I figured it out. Had to search with my VIN to make the US 801 and not the 801 L show up.

    Service manual

Has anyone been able to source a service manual for either of the 801s?

Most likely, I really wish they would have positioned the Svart to compete with the triumph scrambler XE and gave it some off-road capabilities. It is so close to the vitpilen. Same with the 401s, if they would have brought the svart closer to the 390 enduro r it would be so cool.

I bet it’s on pause until Bajaj reviews everything and they get their house back in order. It would make sense to do spokes on the svart and maybe a larger front.

There may be a way to do it, on the 701 I am running a modified 790 adventure hub since those are 790 lowers. Then custom spokes and the original 701 rim. There may be a way to make a set up using 790 adventure front and rear hubs and 17” rims. I have no idea how the rear hub would measure up tho.

Has anyone found a color match to the yellow? That is my next step is working on a few highlights.

Tom, thanks for the info, I need to pull the wheel and look. When I did the dual disk set up using the original 701 mag wheel which I believe is the same as the 801, I used the 1290 disks initially, I think they didn’t fit the shoulder like you say but still lined up fine. I did switch to two...

Yeah I plan on keeping both, I have 10K miles on the 701 so having the 801 will keep some miles off it. The 701 is so fun to ride, except for on the highway.

I wasn’t really trying to get an 801 vitpilen but the local dealership marked their 25 vit down to 7600 USD and it seemed like too good of a deal. A lot of differences between the 701 and 801 but also a lot of the same, my right foot still hits the exhaust on the 801 same as the 701. Didn’t do...

    Svartpilen 701 Master Cylinder Upgrade

I have an RCS 19 but I also have dual disk brakes so it would be too big for your application. I think the stock size is 15 so you probably would Need an RCS 15.

    Dual disk

True, I had to get custom spokes from Buchanan to make the set up work, as well as having the 790 hub turned down. I used the 790 fork lowers in the vitpilen uppers, but I don’t know if that would work with the svartpilen

I am not super familiar with the svartpilen front end and any potential differences? What do you have a question on?

    Svartpilen 701 Master Cylinder Upgrade

The stock vitpilen master cylinder isn’t bad if you can find one cheap. I have a brembo RCS and like it. The abs module is a pain to get the lines on and off even with the tank off. Also to bleed it I think you are supposed to have the husqvarna scan tool to activate the pump.

    Recalls on 2020 701

The gas tank was already done on my bike and my slave cylinder failed at 100 miles so I replaced it with an Oberon before the recall came out. If the recalls are still active I would do it to try and avoid trouble down the road. Probably best to call a dealer with your VIN and see if the recall...

Does sprocket size change makes TC fail error?

Pretty sure the TC compares the wheel speed of the front and rear wheels from the abs tone rings. Gearing should not affect it. I have run a bunch of different sprockets and TC still worked on my bike.

    Dual disk

Not too much else to do to the bike, but I did make a bracket over the winter to use a clutch fluid reservoir for my front brake fluid. Will have to check the level more often but it really cleans up the lines.

    Check engine light

Your going to have to read the codes to get a direction, I would double check you plugged all the sensors and connectors back in.

    801 320mm brake discs

The galfer rotors that come on the 890 are good too, I replaced the brembo rotors I was using on the vitpilen with them and they bite really good. I think they have a higher amount of carbon in the steel than the brembos because they rust a lot easier.

    801 320mm brake discs

Used Brembo M50s usually are cheaper than rotors, about $200-300. I have a set of like new brembo monoblock calipers and pads I picked up for $150 off a Ducati 1100 scrambler. I got them because I was going to buy the 801 svart, if I pull the trigger on a 801 vitpilen I’ll throw them on it.

    801 320mm brake discs

If your going to go through the work of changing the rotors though, I would change the calipers to at least some brembo m50s. I feel that would be a bigger upgrade than the larger rotors and cheaper.
