    Ergo seat

The shape of the seat is the same, just a different padding? I wouldn't mid switching just for the breathability, but I really love the stock shape.

I thought that was just me and that I somehow shut them off without thinking about it. I will keep an eye out now that someone else has said it.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Wetsanded, polished and installed. Since the radiator end covers are not appearing in the technical parts catalog anymore and I already have my shop all set up to do this stuff I may just jump in and skin them myself as well.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Clearcoat done. Garage was too warm to get really good flow out before each coat dried, so I will have to do the 2k/3k/5k/polish stuff to really make it look good. But looks awesome from more than a couple feet away, my color lines came out super sharp.

You do have strong google fu. Where is that pic from? I cannot find any custom maker that doesn't use the large ~13mm chop size for forged carbon.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Someone skinned that photo that Tom found, that isn't 'real' forged carbon, you can see the plastic in the mounting holes. I may wind up doing this as well. I also reached out to motocomposites to see if I can get the same parts with a smaller chop size. @Dhd12 I got the parts from...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Ok, fine. So when you get carbon parts made by professionals they look better than the homemade stuff :) But to be perfectly honest I'm not really a fan of the size of chop they used, I like my smaller stuff better.

I had the RhinoWalk saddlebags for a long road trip on my MT09, they were very nice. Only sold them because I made some frames that let me run Givi semi-rigid bags on that bike for longer trips.

    801 service reset

My maintenance menu (after holding both buttons) also shows software V1.11 (video doesn't show anything, it would be the third item in that menu). I can get in there and change the distance but after saving when I back out it is gone immediately.

    801 service reset

I understand in other countries the warranty is a thing. In the US as long as you keep receipts of service they can't take your warranty away. They also don't extend it if you use the dealer service. Either way, it isn't worth a 5 hour round trip and the dealer didn't exactly do a stellar job...

    801 service reset

Anyone figure this (620 mile service light) out yet without going to a dealer? Closest one is 2.5 hours away, not really interested in driving there to get a light reset.

    Doing a thing, part 2

Back of the unit filled in. Underside of the arch and vertical inset section will be black, outside vertical section will be body color along with the top of the arch. Masked off the arch and laid down a 2k clear over the rest of it. Some of it will get sanded off, but I wanted a line where...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Finally done, sanded flat to 400 grit. Saturday is supposed to be stellar here with low humidity so I'm planning on painting that morning. Front fender pieces are good now as well. Arch on this piece gets the burgundy paint and the the whole thing gets gloss clear. I have until then to...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Sorry, that post wasn't clear. The print was just a copy of the dash to show what it would look like and how much room I would have. I haven't looked at attaching it at all because I don't know where the plug is in the back. Handlebar mounts would be the easiest for sure or I could machine up...

    Doing a thing, part 2

I generally take on new projects because I want the opportunity to learn. What I've learned from this is that I'm not going to do it again. Every time I think I'm getting close to done I wind up sanding through the chop and have to add more and then resand. Very close now, but quite sick of...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Two layers of resin and chop, each vacuum bagged. Bulk sanded with 60 grit to take off the high spots and then another coat of resin. Already very close. Tomorrow I should be able to finish it flat with 60 and then clean it up with 220. Have to figure out what to do with the back, it is just...

    Doing a thing, part 2

Constantly doing resin coats and then sanding them down is annoying. I hit the parts with 2k clear in 2 heavy coats and will use that to flatten everything to final conditions. I didn't set up a spray booth, just did it outside so I got a little dust in there but I wanted to see it on the...
