    Cleaning carter/New issue: starter problems.

Mine was black. It was ABS model, "rare" at the time. The only other color that year was red. Here's a pic from the day it was delivered, March 17, 2019. They are good looking bikes for sure.

    Cleaning carter/New issue: starter problems.

My previous was a 2019 CB300R. How do you think the 401 compares? I think it's a way better bike. I wanted a Vitpilen 401 in 2019 but they were $6299 plus $1500 freight from Austria.

2020 Vit clip on and Cie

I love the look of the clip-ons. Was it difficult to remove the original bars? Does the bike handle better with the lower bars? Do the new clip-ons hit the tank at full steering lock?

2020 Vit clip on and Cie

Nah, the stock bars aren't radically low, very mild as far as clip-ons go. You should see how low the bars are on my road bicycle. Cheers!

    2021 401 rear shock

More twitchy is what I'm after, lol. Increasing the preload on the rear raises the rear and steepens the front as well. I saw a vid where the guy lowers the triple clamps by using only the kickstand. I have front and rear lifts but why go through the trouble. Thank you for your advice.

    2021 401 rear shock

I adjusted the rear shock to 10 preload. It's mo' betta'. It actually rides smoother rather than harsher. I took some familiar curves faster than ever and felt more in control the entire ride. I also set the fork to 8 clicks compression. And 4 clicks rebound. I think the fork is just the...

    Cleaning carter/New issue: starter problems.

Great pics of your Vit, such a pretty bike. I chose the Vit as well, the apple of my eye. It may not be as good of a bike as the 2024s but it's prettier IMO. How's that aftermarket exhaust sound and which one is it?

2022 Svart will not start, radiator fan running, blown 30a fuse.

Sorry to hear about you're troubles. Did you buy the bike new? New or used it could still be under warranty. Honestly, I'd take the bike in to the dealer.

After Years Of Lusting, I've Finally Found One!

It's just starting to get warm enough in SoCal for me to want to ride. I admit it, I'm a fair weather rider. I went out Sunday for a good, proper ride, the first since January. OTOH I ride my bicycles everyday, all year round, as long as it's not raining.

    2021 401 rear shock

    I looked at the shock again, there is indeed 10 notches. I'm at 5, I'll add 3. I weigh 185lbs, 84kg.

    2021 401 rear shock

I'm not right very often but this time I was. Glad you figured it out.

    2021 401 rear shock

Thank you. I will have to look at the shock again.

    2021 401 rear shock

How do you set the rear preload to 10? There's only 5 notches on the shock. Comfort, Basic Setting, and Sport all use the stiffest preload adjustment on the rear shock? Pic of sticker under the seat. \

    2021 401 rear shock

Are you sure it's backed off to the max? Sounds like just the opposite. I bought my Vit new and it came with the rear preload maxed out.

After Years Of Lusting, I've Finally Found One!

It was a rainy winter in SoCal for the second winter in a row. I hadn't ridden my Vit in three months until Wednesday. I thought my battery might be dead but it fired right up, first stab. Rainy and cold this weekend again!

    Non-Running 2020 Vitplien

Good luck! Many here have spoken of 401s that would stall but would restart. I haven't had that problem myself.

    Oil change options

I bought the Motorex oil for top offs. I'm not planning to do my own oil changes, letting the dealer do it. I don't ride all that much and live in a mild climate.
