Ergo seat

No problem, here's the link if youre curious. Very expensive.

Thanks again, i found that item, but i would not like to change the bike geometry, what i would like to do is lowering the Seat itself
Thanks anyway

What about a lower Seat?
I cannot find anything given that iam 1.70 tall and might need to plan my feet on the ground with more confidence

Maybe the height of the standard seat can be reduzed.
If it would be me, I would try to find a good saddler; and then, if the height is reduced, perhaps have a gel pad installed as well.

there's a guy in edinburgh [tom hurley] that does custom seat work, his work is not only stunning but his prices are [in my humble opinion] very reasonable. He does medical and memory foam gel conversions including lowering & foam alterations

I've received the ergo seats and I want to share some pics and initial impressions.
Hi mate any update?

I just picked up an 801 and after the first ride I'm in a lot of pain :/

I think because the seat is wide it stops me fully flat footing the bike even though I have a 32 inch inseam. It puts pressure on my inner groin area when I'm stopped. Not a great start.

Do you have a similar issue? can you flat foot the bike? Did the Ergo help in any way?

I have the bike for 2 weeks now and went last weekend for a 750km road trip with the ergo seat. I was in pain end of first day and ride back home the second day with my cycling pant under my motorbike pant.
The ergo seat has more foam with more density but it feels to hard. The standard seat is much softer and I will try again with this one

Such a shame!

Can you flat foot the bike? where is your pain?

The ergo seat is a bit more comfortable for me but it's not a night and day difference. I can almost flat foot the bike (inseam 80 cm).

I've discovered that the seams of the rearpockets of my jeans trousers is resulting in pressure points, which is the main reason of my discomfort. So I'll look for some new protective trousers without rear pockets.

If the bike is new, try experimenting a bit to to find your ideal spot. Sitting a bit more to the front (closer to the tank) or more towards the back, makes a difference I discovered. The standard saddle will also loosen up a bit after a while.

I just ordered the ergo seat +20mm.

Besides the bit of extra comfort I hope to gain from it, it’s also to increase the angle of my knees/feet into a more relaxed position.

Coming from a KTM 1190 Adventure (also with a +20mm Powerparts seat) the ‘upright position’ of the 801 still takes time/adjustment to get used to;)

When interested I’ll keep you updated here.

Thanks I’ve ordered one today. I think my actual issue is the subframe rubbing the inside of my leg when I put my feet down. It’s the first bike I’ve been on where the subframe extends past the seat padding.

It’s weird that you can almost flat foot it while I’m on the balls of my feet with the same inseam! What do you weight if you don’t mind me asking?

I went for a 2hr ride today and I changed my foot down technique whenever I could. Most of the discomfort is gone, still a bit sore but no extreme pain like yesterday. I scooted back in the saddle a bit too. Seems a bit better.

I think ultimately at 5,7 the bike is a bit tall for me so I need to figure out how to work around that or get it lowered.

I’m in love with the bike otherwise!
