    701 faults and durability

I used the Shorai LFX Battery - LFX18A1 which has a very nice kit of rigid foam stick on padding to mimic the original battery size. Used it on a couple of bikes, very slick. This may be overkill of a battery for the 701, but the electronics on this bike does not like marginal batteries.

    701 faults and durability

Tank recall done by dealer. Occasional flaky display were an early issue for me - I dropped in a lithium battery and that all went away ( I bought a 2019 in 2020 and the battery had 401/2018 had written in marker on it :( I did have it cut out on me a couple of time before I switched the...

Anyone did their own valves at 6000 miles?

That was my thought - I almost never need need to ride under 50F.

Anyone did their own valves at 6000 miles?

It is obnoxious starting up in front of folks - I had a first year BMW K75S that didn't have the piston rings pinned, and when you left it on the sidestand for too long (leaning towards the heads), you would get a big blue cloud of somoke on startup for a 30 seconds or so. Very embarrassing...

Anyone did their own valves at 6000 miles?

I seem to remember a thread somewhere that someone used 15W50 and got improved startup chain rattle.

Anyone did their own valves at 6000 miles?

I was going to try 15W50 I have for my Strada - here with the bay area temperatures I think the 50 should be ok.
