Oh it does, open the throttle under load and it sounds like an angry grizzly bear at the bottom of a well. That inlet must sound awesome
Who's system did you use for the single intake filter? Was it Bad Winners or a custom setup?
Yeah, the Akrapovic system on the Duke is spaced out high and wide when offered up to the 701, I cut about 30mm out of the link pipe between the two exhaust cans and rewelded at an angle to meet the Svart fittings. This appears to be the full KTM 690 exhaust. The OEM exhaust hanger doesn't fit correctly - how did you solve that issue? Is yours custom? Thanks.
You must have done some jetting mods as well - do you have a PCV? Dyno tune or seat of pants? Big changes to the AFR? Did you notice any difference besides sound? No system required, a K&N RE-0930 filter will clamp straight onto the standard intake rubber. The rest of the airbox plumbing was taken care of with a couple of mini DNA filters. Surprisingly easy mod to do.
You are the second person to do that . . . or are the same person. Bike looks different though?Yeah, the Akrapovic system on the Duke is spaced out high and wide when offered up to the 701, I cut about 30mm out of the link pipe between the two exhaust cans and rewelded at an angle to meet the Svart fittings.

I have seen a couple of others, Vits I think, who have taken different approaches to the same mod.You are the second person to do that . . . or are the same person. Bike looks different though?
The "open airbox map" came from whom? I haven't heard of this yet. Is it from Rottweiler? Is this something you can share?PCV with an open airbox map, on top of a fuel dongle. No gaps in the power or flat spots but will probably benefit from some dyno time. It certainly feels like it has a huge amount of extra thrust in the midrange but the increased induction noise almost certainly has a misleading effect on my seat of the pants dyno.

From what I've seen of the aftermarket filter like yours, they have added a length of pipe between the engine and the filter, elongating the intake tract. I think this helps with low-end, mid-range.
I also have a Svart and the Akro, but went a different route: I designed and 3d printed a bracket, keeping the pipe in the same position. It's lovely but my boot heel occasionally contacts the pipe, so I had to install some adjustable footpegs and find a sweet spot for comfort that doesn't force my boot to contact and melt.
Thanks for all the info. Cheers.
I am not sure if I am a fan of the huge hole in the center of the bike.
As I havent had the airbox out myself, maybe you can answer this for me - Isnt it possible to fit a cone filter inside the original airbox, or maybe one of those ramair foam ones?
To bad the other forum shut down. This guy did it almost concept like
