Hello. I live in Japan. Svartpilen 801 was delivered 3 days ago.

Is there anyone who has paired an intercom and a smartphone with Svartpilen 801 and is able to use it as expected, such as playing music?

In my case it doesn't work.

I think the Svartpilen 801 functions as a Bluetooth hub, but I don't know if it supports relay playback of music.

I did. It was possible to use the left hand controls to switch music. It worked OK but now I have an extra screen which is better.

Love Japan! I’m going to Tokyo & Osaka over new years. :)

The Svartpilen 801 allows you to pair your smartphone and headset separately. Have you paired both? I thought the up and down buttons were for adjusting the volume, not for changing songs. In my case, even when I play music on my smartphone with both paired, I can't hear the music from the headset. I hope this can be fixed.

(I'm glad you say you like Japan. Japan is an island nation, so I long for the continent.)

I was never able to get my headset to sync, only the phone. But I was still able to switch songs with the controls on the bike.

It works fine for me; I did not try music, but phone calls with an iPhone and the very simple Sena 3S headset; it also works with the parallel added TomTom sat nav.

I use the SKYVENT Q4 from Amazon (less than $100 for two units). I use it for music, calls, and Bluetooth comms. The music drops a bit when using it as a comm system, but otherwise no issues. My phone and the SKYVENT are synced separately. I set the down button to go to audio to control my music and you click the right button to answer calls when they show up on the display.

How do you connect (pair) the intercom with your smartphone and Svartpilen 801?

The intercom you mentioned has two Bluetooth chips, so I don't have one and will need to buy one to try it out.

Connect the phone with the app and then connect the intercom via Bluetooth in the connection settings on the dash. The intercom is technically paired with the bike instead of straight to your phone.

Go to audio on the dash and see if you can control it from there with the controls. Just an idea.

I've tried several times, but it doesn't work. I can't even operate it from the audio screen. I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you for your advice.

Whats your setup? Theres a few ways to set it up. For example, you can daisy chain the bluetooth devices, connect your phone to your bike and your headset to your phone or you can connect your phone and your bluetooth headset to the bike. I had better luck with having my headset connected to my phone and the phone connect to the bike. Picking the option that says wired headset or something like that in the connectivity menu.

Thank you for your reply. I have the day off work the day after tomorrow, so I'll take a closer look at the settings during the day.

Good evening.

I tried it with the 801 at a motorcycle shop, and I was able to hear music through an intercom I bought on AliExpress for about $7.

I guess I was overcomplicating it, and it seems like it should work within the range of the standard Bluetooth protocol.

I haven't tried it on my own bike yet, so I'll give it another go.

I tried connecting via Bluetooth again. I tested the Moman H2 Pro and the L1. The L1 is a budget model, costing less than $10. The problem was simply due to low playback volume. I solved it by adjusting the volume by pressing and holding the Svartpilen 801 button. I knew I could select songs with a single press, but I only discovered the long press function today. It's strange to hear sound even though my smartphone isn't paired with the intercom. I'm very happy to be able to enjoy the features built into the Svartpilen 801. I'm also relieved to know that any intercom can be connected. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice.

The volume is low on the MOMAN H2 and I can't find a solution, so I'll try a different intercom. I'm not sure what the cause is yet.

I think I've finally solved the problem. The 801 and intercom are thought to be connected via the HFP protocol. Some intercoms are designed to keep the volume low, which also reduces the volume of the music playback.

At first, I thought I couldn't hear the music, but it turned out that the volume was just low. This was the case with the MOMAN H2 Pro and a cheap one called the L1 I bought on AliExpress.

I thought it would be boring to just buy a high-end intercom and be satisfied, so I bought the LEXIN G1, which costs about 4,000 yen. It's cheaper than the MOMAN H2 Pro, but it didn't seem to be a problem.

In other words, it seems you won't know until you try the intercom.

It seems that solo intercoms are often designed to keep the volume low. Intercoms for multi-person connections may be less susceptible to this problem because they use the A2DP protocol (high-quality music playback mode).
