2021 401: where is the regulator rectifier

I feel like i’m going insane. Can’t find this thing on the bike and can’t find any youtube videos? Checked the repair manual and the only mention is one line saying "check the cable from the alternator to the voltage regulator" with no diagram. Anyone less clueless than me?

It is the finned black metal box under the tail right behind the shock.

wow literally never would have guessed to look there but here it is. What a strange design decision

That is where all three of my bikes (Husky, Yamaha, Honda) have it. You want lots of airflow over the fins.
