I have a 2024 svartpilen 401 and im looking for a phone holder so I can use google maps. Looks like the expensive but best option is the quad lock but i don't want to use there phone case just so I can use it with the bike. Would prefer something that looks good on the svart but also I can bring my own phone case and is safe. Any ideas?

I just picked up a quad lock with a universal mount, that adheres to your current cell phone case...only downside is if youre planning to switch to a new cell phone soon youd have to reapply it

Quad Lock here as well. So easy and they have a multitude of options.

Ali express quad lock and Ali express stick-on phone adapter. I have a case I swap into when I ride with the QL thing in the back so I’m not dealing with that bump all the time. Hasn’t broken in 1000mi but I’ve been thinking of filling the back of the plastic with epoxy for a longer trip I’m planning

Universal quad lock has a chance of detaching. You have to use a different adhesive because the supplied adhesive is trash.

Their in-house cases are the best solutions if you go with a quadlock since they are molded as 1 piece. However they only cater to Samsung, Google, iPhone and Huawei phones. Even their cases have been shown to come apart over time. You'd also have to buy a new case for every new phone you get.

I use a universal phone holder. It's a guaranteed grip knowing there is no chance for it to detach. It's guaranteed to work with every phone. I also use a separate cheap phone just for GPS. Ive had one of my good phones get water damage and damage the screen. Ever since then I used a separate phone and just bluetooth tether.

Phones lose their water resistance over time. The IP rating downgrades as the device gets older due to usage.

I had the universal adapter on my S9. I wish it would have come off! I ended up shattering the rear glass trying to get that MFer off. Ended up tossing it with the shattered glass still stuck to it.

Ram mounts, no need for a special cover, very easy to use
Their quick grip mount is good but it doesn't have a vibration damener. That's a no for me. Constant vibrations can take a toll on a phone. That's why I use a beater phone for the mount over my main phone. My main phone goes in my pocket and I tether Bluetooth to my beater phone which I put on the mount to run as a GPS.

It come with a dome decal 3d and soft rubber on the spikes, no need for covers or other accessories.

Use it for 5 years, sometimes you loose the rubber feet for the phone spikes, that may be only problem you may order extras

I use a RAM mount on my 401 Vit
It seems to hold the phone tightly, adjusts easily, and is not in the way of my speedometer.

I have the quadlock vibration dampener system and like the way my phone attaches securely, just like on my bicycles. It does require a quadlock case on the phone to install. I also have the wireless charging head but it seems the supplied USB port on my 2024 401 Svartpilen only supplies 1 amp, not enough to power the wireless charging head that requires at least 2 amps. Quadlock suggests their SAE to USB adaptor: https://www.quadlockcase.com/produc...rvEGuhrsitj6GmjgNqHfM6T4Dn5ODyx6MB7cmiN1-l8Qn.
Has anyone installed it and can offer a review of the installation and performance?

Thanks,
KH

Instead of using the wireless charging head I just plug the USB charging cable directly into my phone. Simple and effective, the phone charges nicely with the new setup.
