Hi All,
Question for you lot out in Husky Land. I have a 2023 901 Norden Exp; love it to bits, but the front brake is either on, or off. I can't get any subtlety in applying it. Travel is only about 2-3cm from fully off to fully on, and it's a pretty long stretch as well. I've unwound the adjuster wheel completely, and fortunately I have a decent sized reach, but it's an 'only just' moment every time. My 'local' (50 miles away) dealer suggests I take the wheel off completely. How that'd make the brakes more subtle I'm not sure. Riding in traffic generally needs gentle use, and the on/off front brake is unsettling and wobble-making - and I've been riding for well over 50+ years so know what I'm doing.
I need to find some way of making the front brake a bit softer, more spongy and capable of gentle application. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've thought about changing the braided hoses for rubber ones, or as a last resort injecting some air into the brake fluid. Both would make the brakes a bit more spongy and inefficient, but seem to be a little drastic.
So, any suggestions??
