This past weekend, a couple of friends and I rode approximately 449 miles from Atlanta, Georgia to the Tail of the Dragon in Robbinsville, Tennessee. Normally, if you were to take just interstates, you could get there in around 3 hours. We ended up taking the scenic route starting at 12:30pm through Blood Mountain in Georgia through ever sleepy town throughout North Carolina and Tennessee. The peak of the ride was definitely the Cherohala Skyway literally at over 5000 feet. The temperature change was vast going from around 63 degrees at the bottom of the mountain down to about 38 degrees on the top of the skyway. After a few fuel stops and stretch breaks, we finally made it to the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort around 6:30pm. This place was absolute petrolhead heaven. From fully built Yamaha R1 track bikes to new C8 Corvettes. From Buells to Mclarens. From Triumphs to 911s. This was the absolutely the most fun I have ever had with clothes on. We are actually planning on going back on April 10th. Definitely work the sore back and butt.
