Hey guys,

Now that the weather doesn't allow us to ride our bikes....I think it's the perfect time to take care of the "wishlist".

One of my main wishes is that I want to reflash the engine ECU with some optimized software.

Since I live in Europe, I found two shops that offer basically the same thing.

One of them is this and the other one is this. Has anyone used their flash on these bikes?

If so...I would really like to hear an opinion on how the bike behaves after the ECU flash!

Here is a graph, before and after the ECU reflash. I don`t really understand these graphs...so, is it good...is it bad...i don`t know 🥸

Hi @Alexandru.k_24,

I had the dataset from MCE Performance flashed via the optional Powergate flasher by myself. So I was able to switch back and forth for any reason. I opted for the fuel guard wideband lambda controller and the short stroke throttle grip (two stages are available) as well. I can highly recommend this upgrade for rideability and joy of the 690 ccm single cylinder. With the fuel guard your engine is controlled state of the art (just a missing long term fuel trim) and the impact of minor hardware changes will be compensated in fueling right away.

The dyno graphs show a much improved mid range torque (results in improved power as well) up to the rev limiter. That's there the party starts. The max horse power is improved slightly just before the rev limiter, that's because of the length of the intake and the OEM camshaft. I didn't mount the AGAP 262_270 camshaft I have until I sold my Vitpilen. :cry:

Please keep in mind that the flash and the results depend on some hardware (especially a removed air filter lid) as well. The exhaust system is much better even with the catalyst still in place compared to the Supermoto/Enduro derivatives of the engine. The dyno graph is from such a derivative.

I still have the Powergate and the fuel guard but I don't know if the Powergate is locked to my VIN.

Thank you for your response! After speaking with the guys from Pirate Racing, they said that the fuel guard device (which is basically a more complex wideband O2 sensor), is only needed in case of further bike modifications, after the ECU flash. My bike is almost stock. I just installed a K&N air filter and removed the DB-killer from the stock exhaust. Right now I'm using a FuelX Lite, but the improvement is not that great. As far as I can see, when the ECU flash is made, I will have to choose which modifications are made. For example: K&N air filter, airbox lid removal and slip on exhaust. Right now I don't know if I have to choose the "slip on exhaust" since I removed the db killer from the stock exhaust.
What is your opinion? Should I also buy this fuel device if I don't plan to make any further modifications? Is it justified to install it after I flash the ECU?

MCE offers two options off reduced throttle rotation/stroke. 71,5 ° is factory, stage 1 is 65 ° and stage 2 is 60 °. It combines the smooth start of the throttle with reduced rotation length towards WOT. The reduction is realized inside the dataset but with a plastic hardware limiter (mounted like Ducati spacers) inside the throttle grip as well.

@Vatte
BTW....It's sad to hear that you've sold your Vitpilen. If i decide to buy also the fuel guard, maybe you could tell me a price for it.
Thx! I got a special offer because I got one of the first Euro4 Fuel Guards and suffered some waiting time.

I would order it because who knows what do you want to do with you bike in the future plus the fact of real wideband short fuel trim. Even different fuel quality can have a slight impact which can be corrected by the Fuel Guard.
