Daytrip to the Eifel in Germany today:

My buddy rides a Moto Guzzi V7, lovely bike, a lot of fun to ride.
Had a lovely day with excellent weather.
 
All in one day, went fine actually. Left the house at 5:40 AM, did about 200km of motorway, ~450km of twisties, and then another 200km motorway to get home at 20:30.
We stopped a few times for drinks and food, and having bluetooth headsets connected and talking crap with a mate all day makes it a lot of fun.

I ordered a veridian cruise control a couple weeks ago, but that got delayed due to issues with the new switch design. But once that's on the bike next season, trips like these will be even easier.
The worst bit is the motorway, you can't really rest your right hand.

I've done a few of these days on my Triumph, and the cruise control makes it so much better.

But once you're in the twisties, the Husky is a lovely bike to ride.
The roads over there are so much better than what I get at home, where I am it's just as flat as a pancake, there's nice corners, but they are few and far between.
Over there, it's just corners corners corners, and everything from tight 1st gear hairpins, to long flat out sweepers.

For comparison, I use Calimoto for planning and riding routes, and they assign a score to every route you make, the higher the score, the twistier/more fun the route will be.
Over here I have to try really hard to get a route to score 40ish. If I make a route in the Eifel, it will score 80+ with ease, and with a bit of effort it will be 100 or more.

That's really awesome. I haven't done a really long ride like that in a long while!
You might check out a simple device called a "throttle rocker" or "cramp buster". Very simple and I think they really help.

My mate has one of those on his Guzzi, I don't like it.
For me it was perfectly doable as is, but the cruise control will make it even better.
And not just trips like this. I find the cruise control on the Triumph very handy.
