A couple of times lately, after I installed a new set of indicators and a new number plate light, the headlight has been left on in a low "parking light" mode when I switch off the ignition key. The first time it was in the garage, so I clearly saw that the light was on, and after tunrning the ignition on and then off again, the light swithced off. The other day, when parking at work in full daylight, I didn't notice that the light was on, so when I got out to go home, the battery was so low it didn't even light up the dashboard when I turned the ignition on. The head light was glowing, though, but it didn't shut off when I turned the ignition on and off.

I managed to jump-start the bike, so I got home alright, but what's up with the headlight? After charging the battery, the headlight behaves as usual. When it was on and didn't want to turn off, I tried to pull out the connectors to the added indicators and plate light, to no avail. I find it hard to believe that the new components would make it behave like this, or? I would rather think that it's something with the ignition switch gone bad, maybe a splash of WD40 or the equivalent to rejuvenate it? Has anybody experiences something similar?

It's difficult to diagnose. But all the lights run off of one fuse, so if it is leaking through the ignition -> e-stop -> headlight then all other lights would be on. So it really points to some bad wiring leaking live voltage near your headlight's "parking light" connection.

Thanks for the reply! It's only the headlight that's on, not the rear. But I suppose You're right, I'll have to check the wires one by one. I haven't been able to reproduce the error since it drained the battry the other week, fingers crossed it "fixed itself"...
