Ah, you're killing me! I so miss living in Pismo Beach. Was there for 7-1/2 yrs. And no, if you live there, you never get tired of it. Thanks for posting that!

So while it is recommended to avoid Hwy1 on weekends & holidays, we got lucky a few years ago when I still lived in Pismo Beach. It was a 4th of July weekend and fires were raging along the coast of BigSur. Hwy1 was closed at Lucia and we had the whole road to ourselves as we ran several times between there and Ragged Point. At one point, the “marine layer” crawled up the face of the shore and literally curled over the road as we shot through the tube! Yet another epic Hwy 1 story locked into. my memory bank.
