Joe's 701 Enduro thread

Warp9 kickstand installed and it work great:

Putting back the spring was a pain in the ass... I need more tools. But now I can put the kickstand while seated no the bike. I don't think the bike is leaning too much, but will compare with my friend's KTM SMC R this Sunday.

So, the I hear you, regarding tilting the 701 to the right when deploying the side stand. Very annoying. It also makes the bike virtually vertical. This is "ok" when on a level surface, but even a slight crown on a road can cause the bike to fall over immediately. I have considered "trimming" my side stand, then re-welding a slightly larger foot to avoid sinking in soft stuff. Also, should one install a extended stand from the RH side of the swingarm (to raise the rear/front, for emergency service/repair) it would help keep the wheel off the ground, while you're repairing the flat.

One other thing...the "hand guards" do little more than keep the wind off your hands. Get some real hand guards. (I chose Highway Dirt Bikes.) Very robust...

I thought about trimming the side stand, a friend did it on his Husky TE250, and it came out great.

On the handguards, thanks for the recommendation. I have a set of Barkbusters on the way.

That compartment is for tools, a tire tube maybe. Four screws to take the plastic off and you can access it. 42FEB3EB-9F12-4666-82EC-CCD1E4BDD435.jpeg
