Hi all,
Adrian here, Geneva based, fairly new bike rider - about a year in. Switched from a Honda CB300R to a 2021 Vit' 401 a few weeks ago.
GPR exhaust, Highsider Montana Evo bar-ends, MG Biketech short levers, side plate holder and K&N air filter. Previous owner tipp-ex'ed the wheels and carter logo - I already launched a thread seeking advice on how to get the carter back to stock.
A big thanks to the admins and all contributors, I've been lurking around for a few months and am very grateful for all the tips and advice shared on here!

Hi folks. Currently live in the New England area of the US but I've lived all over. My last stop I lived just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Oregon. Before that, the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado. For 30 years the Blue Ridge Parkway was 4 miles from the end of my driveway in North Carolina. I've been riding for over 50 years. Kept getting bigger bikes until I found myself on a big V-twin. Downsized to a Triumph. Then, on a whim, bought a Svarty 701. I have rediscovered why I fell in love with motorcycles as a kid. I love this bike.

Use Case: Limiting the need for linkage modifications to not veer from its inherent performance handling on twisty asphalt but adding capable performance on graded gravel and overland dirt roads. Not built for deep sand, heavy mud, surmounting sizable rocks, tall or slippery roots, and logs, or deep and steep ruts.

Goal: Upgrade the suspension range of adjustability and performance to increase the inches of travel for the front and rear to exceed the 5.5 inches of front travel and 5.9 inches of rear travel.

Suspension Objectives in Order of Priority:
  1. Twisty Asphalt Roads: Maintain precise handling and agility for spirited riding on paved roads.
  2. Unpaved Roads: Suspension enhancements to provide better stability and comfort, with the ability to manage riding challenges encountered on roughly graded gravel roads.

  • Internal Cartridge Kits: WP XPLOR PRO 7500 or 7548 cartridge kits, which offer enhanced damping performance and can be tailored to increase travel.
  • Longer Travel Rear Shock: Longer travel rear shock like the WP XPLOR PRO 6746, designed for adventure and rally bikes. This shock offers progressive damping and increased travel, tailored to more demanding off-road conditions.

Have a 1290 SAS and BMW but first Husky….a blast so far and makes an old man feel young again!! Anyone near Winchester VA up for a ride give me a shout as always out and about. Havent been as much into dirt since early 20’s so discovering trails in Va, Tenn and NC.

Purchased a heavy spring but hesitant to mount right before a mountain trip to Asheville NC area.

I enjoy twisties, gravel, camping and occasional offroading - > and this is my beasty

Love this bike. I have a lot of motorcycles, I'm back after wandering off into road bikes for a long-ish time. I'm 77, been riding since I was 15. Most of the bikes I have that are considered "vintage" I bought when they were either new or lightly used. For example, I have a 1976 Yamaha 360MX I bought new when I was the service manager of Wheels of Fortune, Yamaha in Carson, CA. I just came back from the Touratech rally and I brought the Husky this year. In previous years I rode a KTM 390 ADV, then a Beta 390 RR-S, and this year the 701. The little Beta is lighter and more agile, but the Husky is easier to ride. McLovin' it.

Bonjour tout le monde. J'ais soixante dix ans je suis dans la région d'Ales. je viens de vendre mon Africa twin. Trop lourd pour mes années et mes problème de santé. Donc quoi que de plus léger que la Svartpilen 701 170kilos au lieu de deux cent cinquante kilos. La décision est prise je viens d'acheter la moto. Elle a déjà 30000 km ( se qui me chagrine un peu. Combien de kilomètre peu bien faire le mono de KTM ). Elle est 2019. Je vois que les accessoires sont rares pour la 701. Voila j'espère trouver les idées et les conseilles . Es-que je peux faire un road de plusieurs centaines de Kilomètres avec. Je suis en train de me confectionner un support de sacoche arrière pour de la bagagerie

Bonjour à toutes et tous. Born in France, living in Canada for the last 25 years now in the Ottawa area, and I have been riding for almost 40 years. I have owned Hondas, Harleys, BMWs (in particular a NineT I loved for many years), Guzzis - my wife rides a V7 Stone.
I have been riding a 2023 Norden since spring last year. Already rode over 20,000 km with her, and it is one of the best, most versatile, go everywhere bike I have ever owned. Plus it looks really great. I ride everyday from March until whenever we can where we live now (November, sometimes December depending on the snow and ice on the road), this is and has been my primary mean of transportation for ever. I recently sold the 2021 Svartilen 401 I had for one of my sons (and also for me when I wanted to have fun too!), and now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new 801. Still enough room in the garage, but it will get tight when she comes. Thanks a lot for the community on this forum, it really is a great one!

Bonjour Et bien je vais étonner personne si je dis que j'ai une Svartpilen 701. Je l'ai depuis deux mois et parcourue 2500 km. Première impression : joueuse, légère, facile à manier, coupé qui ne laisse pas indifférents (certains aime d'autre la haine ) Il est vrai que la coupe Néoclassique voire rétro est spéciale. La mienne à 34000 km ( j'espère que ce n'ai pas trop) de 2019. Pour moi qui n'a eu que des gros cubes il est vrai que c'est un véritable changement. Avec le poids de mes 70 ans et tous les problèmes de santé je me suis tourné sur ce modèle pour ça légèreté et facilité. Je pense que c'est une bonne moto pour le permis A2. Pas pour les baroudeurs ? J'attends de voir la fiabilité.
