I've just tried fitting some generic KTM throttle spacers from Racetorx with no joy. The throttle/start button housing is a totally different body shape and size. Has anybody managed to source a spacer kit that fits, and removes the throttle free play?
Cheers

Throttle spacers take out the free play in the twistgrip on the initial turn of the throttle. This is a mechaincal gap that is taken up with the spacer. They are widely used on KTMs and triumphs to take out the initial free play in the twistgrip. it would appear that the throttle twistgrip and starter button/kill housing isn't similar to other KTMs.

I have a freeplay on throttle handle also and do not like it. On my friend´s Duke 890R it is same. On my Tuono V4 2023 is no freeplay and it is much better especially in lowspeed corners.

BTW, while you're at it maybe get a sheet of teflon (easily found online). About 0.3mm thick. Cut out a rectangle, roll it up and slip in into the the throttle tube before you slide it back on. Also pay attention to where the throttle assembly is positioned on the bar, loosen it and move it towards the bar end a touch, don't press it up tight, just get it very close. With this, and the spacers above, you will near eliminate the vertical, horizontal and the rotating play. I've done this and also taken off the stupid lock on grip on the left, replacing the grips with a nice mid compound race grip glued on. To put the new grip on the throttle side I needed to sand down the ridges on the tube. I went for Renthal grips, just to be in line with that bar supplier - https://www.renthal.com/road/index.php?route=product/search&tag=A67602001000C1A, you will see that part number on the bar under the locking grip on your bike. But most grips will fit, its a standard bar size. I'm waiting for the grip puppies now, that I'll slip over the top of the normal standard sized grips, but thats personal preference. And one last thing - my hand is about 1.5cm closer to the indicator switch on the left now.

You can fix this quite easily with some tape (I used: https://www.tesa.com/nl-be/consument/tesa-extra-power-perfect.html) and some small plastic pieces (like a cap from a plastic bottle or a piece of zip tie or ... ) which you cut to the right size. I found this solution on a KTM forum and did something similar. It takes all the play out which is a really nice feeling.

Just make sure the handle still rotates smoothly and frictionless. I can't recall anymore but maybe in the end I've done only one side (instead of both sides on the photo) because the amount of tape in the inside made it a bit too tight to rotate the handle.

The blue bit is where I put the piece of zip tie. Works perfectly. I always have zero play in my throttle setup. I prefer it this way
