Struggling to sell my Vit 701

The market right now is terrible, from a seller’s standpoint. At least irs a newer machine- the vintage market has simply dried up. Bikes which fetched nosebleed prices a few seasons ago are selling for 25-40% of that now. Your Vit may fetch $4-5k, but it could take sometime to find a buyer.

has anyone added risers to a Vitpilen? Not the Svart-conversion, just risers for the stock bars. Just curious if anyone else has stumbled into...

I bought Maxcool’s bar risers for my Vitpilen and I like them a lot- as a 58 yo guy I find the factory bars a bit low for anything but really hauling.

    Engineering Vs. Marketing

I own a 701 Vitpilen and a 93 Ducati 900ss. The Vitpilen is lighter, handles better, and is every bit as fast. Both have their own unique personalities, and I find I choose the Duc more often if the weather is poor or the ride will be over 100 miles. I love the Vits easy approachability, and...

Hey Max- might you consider selling your Gills risers to someone who is about to turn 57 and is finding it harder to touch his toes?

Tire Installation for Internet Purchased Tires (!)

I change so many tires every year you would think I would have invested in a No-mar or equivalent by now….. 12 tires in the past 6 months between my stuff and friends. All with spoons.

Tire Installation for Internet Purchased Tires (!)

$50/wheel if you just bring them the bike and the tires? Or $50 each with loose wheels? If they are removing and installing the wheels that’s not a bad deal.

Tell me again why I should sell my Vit...

I’m always surprised by how some machines are super sensitive to tires and tire wear and others are not. One of my bikes is an old R69s and when I put it back on the road after a long layup I installed period correct-ish Metzler tires… and it now steers terribly. I now know why the /2 bikes were...

    Side stand switch/magnet failure

So while installing a new pipe on my ‘19 701 I noticed the magnet on my side stand was loose. I touched it with a screwdriver tip and it came right out. Mine didn’t appear to have any sort of adhesive on it at all, and the hole has a pressed in steel insert- I think the engineers were relying on...

    Dual disk

My largest complaint with single disk brakes is the asymmetric loading applied to the forks. This seems to be less and less of an issue as fork stiffness has improved, but it has been an annoyance on some of my older machines. the Vit seems to handle this twisting load with ease, and it’s...

They are the US versions- if they continue to self dismantle like this I’ll change them.

    Ride Pictures!

Close observers will note the left rear turn signal has fallen off- or more accurately popped off its rubber mount, and is hanging by its wires. I didn’t notice this till I got home. The lens was scratched up from bouncing about, but it’s an easy fix: remove the securing screw of the lens, take...

    Ride Pictures!

It’s still a bit chilly in my neck of the woods.... but I’m finally out exercising the bike. The very next modification will be heated grips!
