You could order the Brembo discs from Italy for about USD 170 each; shipping to the US is about USD 30 for a pair...

I know of someone who had them replaced under warranty several times; and he ended up with after market discs to ultimately solve the problem.

From what I know the 890 SMT brake discs are 64mm (inner diameter) instead of 52mm and they have an offset of 9.7mm; the will not fit. Additionally I would generally avoid stock/OEM Galfer discs as they generally tend to warp (on several KTM models).

From what I found the curb weight (road-ready with 90% fuel) of the 801 is 191kg; the "old" Duke 790 is 188kg. The new 2027 790 is set to weigh 2 kg less, because of a new, lighter subframe. In total it would be a difference of about 5kg / 11lbs. That seems more plausible to me.

That surprises me too. It’s virtually the same bike, just with a few differently designed parts.
