2021 401: where is the regulator rectifier

It is the finned black metal box under the tail right behind the shock.

    Wheel Compatibility

If I wanted to do that I would find the brake disc part number and check which years that brake disc fits, the mounting points for the cast wheel is different. You can probably find this on the Galfer website.

    New guy with a question

The QA on these bikes is comically low. You might just have a poorly seated connector somewhere.

    Need Help!

Why are we talking about the clutch? That side is the normal fill side, of course it has oil in it.. The original post was concerned that he added oil to the alternator side via the plastic cap that is the inspection port for finding top dead center. In many bikes this would be a problem. In...

    Need Help!

A quick google search shows that you are nowhere near the first person to do this wrong. But most of them were KTM owners, so you should feel at least a little dumb :) The oil on that side drains back to the sump, so you are fine.

    Need Help!

I've never had a bike where I looked at the alternator and had oil on that side, but maybe this bike is different. I don't see a seal on the main shaft bearing so oil could certainly get into that area - and if it gets in there must be a drain passage back to the sump at the bottom somewhere...

    rough running

Have you ever ridden a large-ish single before? They aren't terribly smooth until they get some revs in them. Having said that I wouldn't say anything out it is 'rough'. Anyone in Vermont that can swap bikes with our new friend?

    Stainless Steel Bobbins

That is actually an incredible price. I made my own since I have a lathe but with material, time and the stainless bolt all electroplated I could not do that for $30.

    So I'm doing a thing...

No, that is what I'm saying. Up top in open loop you are fine. The powertronic actually removes fuel over 6k rpm. But below that it is adding it, quite a bit in the exhaust map. You can avoid running lean as long as you have a FuelX lite and stick with moderate throttle below 6k.
  16. T

    So I'm doing a thing...

The FuelX only corrects closed loop operation - light to moderate throttle and loads. As soon as you whack the throttle open you go right back to the stock tables that are overly lean for a stock exhaust. I would not run an exhaust without both (although I think a lot of people do). The...

    So I'm doing a thing...

Installed Powertronic ECU and the stage2 DNA filter kit. Used Powertronic's 'exhaust' downloadable map to run it. They did a nice job with the tune file, I made a small sleeve extension to put just upstream of the muffler so that I could run a wideband O2 meter. A little ghetto looking but it...

    Handlebar Grip Compatibility?

Only Harley's use a 1" bar as far as I know. You want grips for 3/4".

    svartpilen 401 fuelx problems

As much as a pain as it might be, I would uninstalled the fuelx and see if any of your problems remain. The clutch thing certainly doesn't sound like something a piggyback could screw up.

    Svart 401 chain

the chain is the cheapest part of these bikes and that is saying something. first thing I did was swap out sprockets and put a real chain on it.
