    401 Svart not starting.

i had the same issue last week. I have not ridden my 2023 Svartpilen for 6 weeks as I have just had hand surgery. Last week I got dressed for a first tentative ride in a while, turned on the ignition, hit the starter, no start. It tried a few turns over but no start. hit the starter again, no...

    Break-in oil change filter pictures.

I know how you feel about taking pics. That’s the last thing I’m thinking about whilst doing an oil change. Trying to remember all the screens and ‘o’rings and plugs and stuff is enough for my ageing brain. I did mine (Motul 7100) a couple of months ago at 3000 miles and it was a dark reddish...

    My New Svart 401

I just put rear brake reservoir into eBay search and picked the cheapest. £4.91 here in u.k. people buy these from china and then sell on eBay so it came in a couple of days.

    My New Svart 401

Just a little mod to remove the horrible rear brake reservoir, it was more the colour of it really. Anyway, a new tiny one from eBay and a new bracket and it blends in nicely. Same original hose but with the slightly larger clamp from the kit. I filed the hole in the lid holder on thing to...

    Break-in oil change filter pictures.

Could you post pics of the filters and report your thoughts on the condition of the oil after this change please. Just curious, thanks.

    Vitpilen 801

I reckon that’s around 7mm of clearance between the handlebar cluster and the tank.

    Vitpilen 801 announced

Headlight, rad cover, front mudguard, belly pan, exhaust (not just black but has a different end more of a slotted metal guard than the ring of ridges on the Svart) heel plates and handlebars.

    Vitpilen 801

Still think they would hit the tank on full lock unless you set them at the same height as the standard bars, then you would just have bars further forward. Years ago I thought I wanted lower bars on my Hornet 600, it already had low Renthals and the hand controls were already really close to...

    801 Vitpilen?

Looking at the Vit and the Svart, I prefer the black exhaust, rad covers, heel plates and belly pan of the Vit. Also the front mudguard is more refined and the headlight at an angle suits the lines better on the Vit. The handlebars are slightly lower than the Svart but overall I prefer the...

    Vitpilen 801

Pic from husky website show standard Vit bars are pretty close.

    Vitpilen 801

I think even flat bars would hit the tank sides on full lock, I doubt if the bars can go much lower than where they are now without risking some hand control interference.

    Vitpilen 801

I do not want to upset our larger cc brothers in the 801 forum but….. I prefer the Vitpilen to the Svartpilen! Spoked wheels would have looked much better on both bikes though or almost any bike that is not a sports bike. I love spoked wheels…!

    New 2024 svartpilen 401... problems?

I am no expert in modern motorcycle electronics but in the manual for your bike it says when the abs rear lamp is on rear abs is deactivated (supermoto mode) and when the tc lamp is on the traction control is deactivated (again supermoto mode will deactivate tc) so you will need to change...

    Break-in oil change filter pictures.

Mine had more bits of ‘liquid gasket’ and about the same fuzz of metal on the magnet as this. I also had some small 1-2mm silver glitter (not steel as not on the magnet) and some very fine silver sheen which had not been trapped by these filters or the main paper one. I changed oil at 340 miles...

    New guy with a question

Glad you got to the bottom of that conundrum. Ride safe.

    New guy with a question

You should give them a test whilst stationary with your engine running, just count how long they stay on for. If they do not cancel after a certain amount of time then a try and test them in a car park (parking lot) or similar whilst riding and turning. I must admit self cancelling indicators...

    New guy with a question

I do not think it is ‘you’ in the 701 part of this site (5th post from top) someone had the same issue with their bike. If it were my new bike I would return to the dealer I bought it from to diagnose the issue. Ask them for an explanation of what causes the issue. I really doubt you can cause...
