At a $1.6K premium to the duke 790 it’s not as egregious as the mark up on the 701 when it came out… is the tech pack separate on the 790...

True, hopefully they don’t do what they did with the duke, released the 790 then quickly released the 890 that killed the 790 resale value and upset owners.

Disregard about the rotors, looks like the 890 and 790 use very similar looking rotors. Would be strange if they put the low spec calipers on the 890 though. Oh well, used m50s or stylemas are pretty cheap.

Hope they do a vitpilen as well since I would much rather have the belly pan vs the skid plate and fly screen. The front brakes are duke 790, low spec calipers and smaller steel centered discs. seems certain it’s not the 890. Also has bolt holes under the tail for the rear fender and license...

Looks like the taillight will be part of the tail and not hanging off the fender so that’s really good news. I was worried they were gonna go Suzuki 8s and that monstrosity.

I love they stayed with the five spoke wheels and didn’t go with the weird 790 lattice wheels.

I’ll still keep my 701 for twisty road fun, but a 901 would be good to compliment it for longer trips. The 701 is pretty exhausting on longer highspeed rides.

It will be close, a little more room so you can move around to shift the weight. You’ll want to ride it if you found the 401 uncomfortable because it will be similar.

I assume the msrp is in Canadian dollars so in USD it would be 10k ish, so about 1k more than the 790, not bad, especially if it includes the “tech” pack.

Sorry, just saw your response. I did what you are not supposed to do and just left the old stock pads on it. In my experience with waved rotors before, they usually have a little more crisp initial bite and that’s about it…

This! My 401 is fun to rip around on, but if I am doing any serious riding I take the 701, a 801 or 901 would be even better. The new dash is a huge improvement imo

I think the blue color is just from being stainless, the pic is of my thruxton stainless exhaust. I have had to do a lot of stop and go riding in extreme heat with the vitpilen which really makes the pipe glow…

I’m not really sure, maybe because I did not delete the air injection. My thruxton discolored like that as well from the air injection.
